Right then, the welding's done.
That set me back £200 but from what I can see of the work it was worth it.
True to form when I went to pick it up tonight (after the garage had closed) it wouldn't start so I had to drive home and get my jump leads.
A large chunk of inner wing/floor replaced on the passenger side.

Some serious reconstructive surgery on the chassis rail and anti roll bar mounting on the passenger side. The anti roll bar wasn't actually connected to the body at that side before the welding. That should help the handling a bit.

There was also another couple of bit of welding on the seat belt mount points, which required the interior to come out.
Also this arrived today:

I've only had a quick look through it. But it looks like £6 on ebay get's you a late 70' s early 80's edition and maybe doesn't have some of the latest techniques. Lot's of fillering over slide hammer holes and instructions on how to fix rust holes with fibre glass. Right up my street and there does look to be a lot of good stuff in it.

Next is the rear subframe bushes. I bought the bushes a few months ago knowing they needed doing. I toyed with doing it myself for about 12 seconds and then went about finding a local BM specialist with infamous 5 series subframe bush tool.
It's booked in for next Tuesday and is going £150 +vat, which is a fair lump out my budget. Gulp.
The only thing outstanding other than some bulbs is the ABS warning light. I'm going to try to clean the sensor's at the weekend. I'm praying this will sort it else it's probably new ABS sensors (hopefully).
