the v8 1 looks the nuts , love the steels its on ,
tbh id go pinto or a 2.0 carlton lump , with the carlton lump you get to keep it vauxhall and get the choice of auto or manual , auto with the carlton lump will be a cool nippy cruiser,.

The carlton gearbox is huge and will no doubt require the tunnel modding to fit.the se engine its attached to is pretty good and has 122 ponies.The 8v engine is a cracker and even the ne i used to have in my manta pulled that about ok.

Aw you've all been great! I'd like to keep it Vauxhall at least and v8chevette i've been following your thread religiously, in awe! Just to see what comes up in the way of manta parts now really and I'm good to go! Thanks for those old pictures of my car, obviously before it was slammed, looked tidy back then didn't it! that was taken just after i bought it, it was saved from a scrapyard to be banger raced but i bought it off of him,it had all the paper work from new including the bill of sale, it looked nice after i polished it they were taken in 06 the same year i got caught speeding in it lol

Pity I don't have any paperwork now (if Sparko sees this a reply would be welcome) regarding this. In regards to the engine I seem to have gone full circle as my insurance won't give me a reasonable quote with a bigger/replaced engine so I've got hold of a 1.75" HIF44 off a metro with necessary inlet manifold so today I plan on checking this over and bolting it on to see. Will keep you informed
