Is that basically the same as a Sunbeam or am i way off the chart with that one? Was that available in the UK? FWD i presume...

Tim, I used to think it was Lotus Sunbeam Talbot-related also. But BD, who helps a rally mate with his Lotus Sunbeam Talbot, assures me the team says not a single Horizon part fits the Lotus Sunbeam Talbot! Boy they sure look related to me, even still.
The Omni/Horizon we got in the states were manufactured by Mopar in Belvidere Illinois, FWD, Mcstrut IFS. The GLH-S version was manufactured by Shelby Motors at their Whittier CA plant from Dodge shells. They only made 500 of the GLH-S 4-dr Omni, and all in 1986.
I have one. 2.2L Turbo, I/C, 5-spd, equal-length half-shafts for torque steer abatement, big Kelsey-hayes brakes, huge GY tires, Shelby rims, Koni adjustables on all corners, leather wheel, 175HP standard, with chip options from Shelby for up to 225HP without opening up the motor for internal mods. Rocket ship. Shelby has often been quoted that this was his favorite personal car of all his cars: Cobras, GT350s, Olds Shelby 1, Viper, etc. This was the car he most liked to drive.
Norm
PS, Aye, Higboycoupe, related to the Talbot Horizon. But didn't the Talbot Horizon have torsion rod front suspension? I think so.

I'm a big fan of the 205 GTi - I've had four of 'em and enjoyed every one!

Someone else will probably add more, but: Talbot Sunbeam = rebodied Avenger (=RWD, Hillman design) Talbot Horizon = FWD French Talbot design, from the same pot as the Talbot Alpine etc. Talbot and Rootes Group (=Hillman) got swalled up by Peugeot. Rootes at the time included a Sunbeam manufacturer nameplate, as well as a Sunbeam model (although there was never a Sunbeam... Sunbeam as that would have been too confusing of course!) And my predictable offering:

Mmmmm 205 ;D ;D I'm biased because i have one but it's still a great hot hatch. Room for 5 inside, made from steel so thin you could read through it, great in the corners and the engines just loved to be revved (even the 954cc ;D) My own track dog: My favorite 205 that isn't mine: Allways had a soft spot for the Maestro Turbo as well ;D

That Mk3 Escort looks good. Why am I liking that? I am now also liking the those Chrysler/Talbots and of course the Mustang Fox Body and the BMW 2002 hatch.

This is a notchback Mustang, not a hatchback. This body version has a conventional trunk (boot) lid, no hatch I'm afraid. Norm
