Yep, all painted Just out in the snow at the moment wet-flatting it, ready for compounding.... It's a ridiculously hard colour to photograph, epecially inside or on a miserable day (so anywhere at the moment!) but here are a couple of sneaky snaps. Once it's all finished, and the sun comes out (wishfull thinking!) I'll get some better pictures

One side now flatted and compounded.... Poor quality photo, again doesn't do the colour justice, but you can see the shinyness!

Fantastic deep shade to that....... looks like a real top quality finish. Glad you've given it a good going over and it's coming out so well.
Top work fella.
What's the plan on the interior (or did I miss that bit?)

Interior plans..... Right, deep breath! Starting from the front: Polished stainless fabricated engine cover, possibly with perspex viewing window (the engine will be lit by blue LED's in the 'tunnel' area we fabricated into the bulkhead). Custom dash, in 3mm Ally, painted the same colour as the van, with lettering for the new gauges engraved back through to the bare metal All new gauges, including digital speedo/rev counter, and mirror-fronted blue iluminated aux gauges Custom made remote shifter on dash with ally T-handle and blue LED gear indicator Black leather seats. Custom made door cards, trimmed in Black leather/Alcantara (as per the rest of the interior) with Chrome window winders Remote door poppers In the back there will be a large bed (the metal frame for which has already been fabricated and fitted). The front section of this will fold up into a bench seat. Small stainless steel sink (allowing camper van insurance, and doubling as a 'self filling' bowl for Dave's dog!!) The rear 'under-bed' cavity is a luggage area accessed via the rear hatch. The fron 2ft of the cavity will be home to audio gear - 2x15" subs in sealed enclosures, and a large amp & power cap behind a perspex window with Blue LED illumination. Alpine H/U up front with 2x 6.5" components and 2x 6X9's. Interior lighting to be decided. Not too much left to do then

That looks great, I bet that colour will really look amazing when the summer sun hits it.
What are the plans for the gap in the middle of the front splitter? you going to fix the old bit back in with dzus fasteners or something?

Yeah, you've hit the nail on the head with the colour - it looks almost black in low light, but when the sun hits it you see an amazing deep redish purple (as per the shots higher up where I used the flash) shine through. As for the splitter, we certainly won't be using the old part - the splitter was evidently intended for a car, and the original 'builder' had cut it in half, then filled the middle by screwing wooden battens in from the back, bending a piece of sheet steel roughly round them and then fillering it to shape! We'll probably remake it out of fibreglass or ally and make it removable (hidden brackets at the back as per the section above). Not a massive concern at the moment.

I love it, but don't you think blue LED's have been overdone?
Why not go for RGB LED's with a controller, and you can have any colour you want!
