Some of you may have seen this in the For Sale section recently this is because I had been away working a lot and had not had a chance to get out drive it or even see it. I put it up for sale but didn’t get any serious offers, pretty glad because when I got home after quitting my job in Jan I went out to my parents house where I keep the car. Saw it, Started it and realised just how much I would have regretted selling it. I bought the car a year and a half ago as it is because I wanted something old/retro/fun but did not have the time or knowledge to build anything this nice. Credit for getting the car to its current state this is all down to Jason and Shelly down in Orpington they built the car up from a 1.5 super auto into what you see. I am posting it up now as with some spare time on my hands and a bit of money in my pocket after working way too much there are a few things I want to do and some help would be greatly appreciated. Enough chat here’s the car Brakes are from a sunbeam lotus I think. They aint great when driving hard they fade a lot considering changing them for something better I believe these would fit does anyone know if these would work with the standard master cylinder would there be any problems. www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=562_563_567&products_id=3934

They should work fine with your standard master cylinder. But if you're still not sure about it, servo kits are available from speedy spares

Those 13" looks absolutely gorgeous, but to be honest i think they're too small for the car, but please, prove me wrong! They may work with it properly slammed, or wrapped with old-looking racing slicks

Saw it in Retro Cars magazine, I love it!
I really want another Avenger. If you can get hold of a GT dash they're much cooler, four big round dials. They look great with a roof chop too. And a V8. One day...

They may work with it properly slammed, or wrapped with old-looking racing slicks yeah i'm not sure if they will suit but want to see how it drives on smaller wheels. Just going to have to choose the right tyres. Not really sure if i should go 50 or 60 profile. Got some photo's of an Avenger GT on 13"minilites somewhere

really like this , altho i don't think the red goes with the gold , get them 13s on with either 175/50.13s or 195/45/13s , will look the nuts all done

I know its not very fashionable, but Avengers handle beautifully on 185/70/13. You can feel all the sidewall flex as you enter a corner and really load the tyre up. It would be rubbish on a track, but on the road it lets you know that you are reaching the limits of traction without letting go big style. Well done on getting a great looking car.

Somehow only just seen this.
The colour combo shows the rear profile off well.
Wondering if some kind of "go faster " stripe or even just thin black pinstripe between the red and gold would make it look more together (just my view )
Lovely car and the conversion looks like it was born there.

Yeah its an Alan man inspired paint job. Jason built the car inspired by a drawing (yes a hand drawn)someone sent in to Street Machine Mag(many years back) Have toyed with the idea of a black stripe between the colours. Have even have the electricians tape out and put one on to see if i liked it but to be honest there are a couple of areas of bubbles popping up around the car to clean them up and respray the areas would be impossible to match, so thinking that when i get back to work and get some cash together it will be time to sort out a new paint job. Any suggestions? Need to get a hold of photoshop and learn how to use it so i can see how things could look.
