That Fiesta is so sweet. I forgot that these existed. They llok so fresh even today. Sorry i missed this event, let me know when the next one is and i will bring down the Autobahn stormer - 944 turbo......
What an awesome space and an awesome meet. I don't know why I haven't read this thread since it's always knocking about near the top of ROM. I think one day if I ever get my car reliable enough I'm going to come down and get in the way
looked like a mint day! Damn wish I could have came over! I'd took address and directions and eveything but stupidly "Assumed" the missus had no plans, she did the same. I was doing my thing on the sunday, so she won the argument toss for saturdays events
Next time! and next time i'll book in advance with swmbo

Sorry for the delay in posting these pics up - work has been a little bit manic leading up to the play day and all week since!!
Sat 10th October saw the 2nd 'Area 52 Play Day' down at the unit. Weather was stunning, lots of people came along and all in all it was a fantastic weekend (yes....weekend - some of us drunken hooligans crashed over at the unit!)
Thank you to everyone for making it such a cool day/weekend. I am sorry to those that couldn't attend....you really missed out on a lot of fun!
Without further ado, here are quite a few photos (in a totally random order!) that sum up the weekend:
Play Day II (pt1):
The essential 'kick back, chill out, chat, drink tea' opening ceremony in the newly decorated 'snug'
Om nom nom - lots of healthy munchies to kick start the day - along with some essential reading/essential viewing (kindly brought back from Aus for me by Swollen...thanks Dude ;D )
Lee (Ratters) checks out the 'cool walls' - better than any cool wall of Top Gear
Plenty of literature to keep everyone occupied. Car mags covering many decades (70's through to today). The awesome & classic Athena pics were donated to A52 by Phil - they will be taking pride of place in the snug
Random shot.....but to those who've already visited, you'll be glad to know the manky toilet now has a proper toilet seat! HOORAH!! Appropriate health warnings also present to highlight the dangers of venturing into the A52 loo!
The lolly pot from the Gathering still going strong.....
James (EightSix) brings his beautiful Corolla track car in for some work (alongside Morgs' lovely Fezzer from Play Day 1)
Inside James' AE86
Morgs' Fiesta plays little to the Delica's large.
Chris (PF Chris) then brings his newly aquired golf in to get some serious stick action going. Phil (Swollen) lends a hand....
James, Chris & Phil suss out the new coilovers...
....while Ben cranks up the BBQ to cook some tasty fish that JoeTheFish brought with him for us all to try (epic food Joe 8-))
Meanwhile, Johhny Somerset, Adam and Mark (ColonelK) chill on the new Area 52 pimp leather sofa and soak up some sun while supping on some beers....
BBQ'd bacon, bangers & bass. This is the life!!
Si (Black8Driver) gets to work on the manifold for the Corolla...
...while James starts to measure up the new crossbrace for the rollcage
Chris is busy getting his rear suspension fitted
A little nosey around the sheer wholesome retro-ness in the A52 yard:
Johhny's newly purpled Cedric. UBER!
70's J-barge eyes up 90's J-roadster
The much loved drift Senator next to Ratters lovely Mk1
Marks Senator sports the new A52 essential sticker!
Ian's (BiAS) ever evolving mega-Micra
Alan (Grunty) and Si discuss cars
Hillman was quite a contrast to Si's better known form of transport - his Pymouth Barracuda!
Sean's (Mid72) beautiful CX. Absolutley stunning!
Ben's Volvo with ever evolving paintwork. Chocolate brown is on the cards, but 'rough & ready' will have to do for now.
Cedric, Senator and rather tatty/unloved Eagle line one side of the yard
Some TLC on Grunty's newly aquired 28,000mile Maestro!
Johhny sets up a new sideline in rear light tinting...
...while James & Ben set about modifying Joe's boots with the leftover bits from the coilover kit
The tension/anticipation mounts.....will they work??
Fitting the boots under the watchful eye of Ian's Micra
RESULT! Joe gets some air!!
Surprisingly amazingly, no twisted or broken ankles. Obviously the result of a thorough knowledge of health & safety by James. Risk assemssments were comprehensive..... ;D
Back inside people eagerly await the moment when Chris' Golf comes off the jacks
It's half down....and it's LOW!
Phil & Lee waiting for the other side to be completed
A few technical difficulties means that its time to break out the air tools on the siezed nut
That fails, so James takes more drastic measures while Johhny supports the strut
One dead strut!
Chris is now pleased that things are back on track
Chris & Joe get the wheels back on the other side with Si watching over
Chris gives the new ride height his seal of approval
That's it for Part 1
Please tune in again later for Part 2 and thanks for watching ;D ;D
