MASSIVE apologies for not updating this with the dates for the next Playweekend! Short notice, I know, but the next weekender will be from Friday 11th November to Sunday 13th November. A full weekend again this time. Some of you will know that there will be new project arriving. Dan & Ben have both booked time to work on their cars, but I also want to make some good headway on the Fairlane now that some of the other things have been sorted. So the main priorities will be the Fairlane, the new project and some more clearing/space making work. Anything else will be a 'play it by ear' type affair (Ben & Dan's work aside seeing as that has already been agreed) Looking forward to this one and 'Project Hovis' is going to be something very, very special

Sounds good Bruce. The funds are holding out for now, so I see no reason why I wouldn't make if for Saturday, either arriving in the morning or Friday night, and then staying until the small hours of Saturday night. Looking forward to it.

Shame, it's the missus' birthday that weekend so not for me. Enjoy it - and document everything for those of us living vicariously through yourselves.

Keep bouncing back to this thread... Now I've got the Marina back I've decided it's high time I joined the forum, so I can actually say that A52 is awesome, as opposed to just thinking it!
Have sent Bruce a PM, hoping I'll be allowed to come and join in. Not a skilled welder, painter, mechanic etc etc, but I can make a mean cup of tea if that helps...
It's my other half's birthday on the Friday so I won't make the whole weekend even if it is a yes from Bruce- but I'm hoping I could pop in for a few hours Saturday, Brizzle ain't that far and you can all have a good laugh at the Marina.

I'm really rather excited. Homebrew, tools, pieces of Passat to hammer back together, money for the kitty.. Marvellous ;D Glad to hear the Fairlane is going to get some loving too. I really enjoy working on that

Hey, I'm kinda new, but heres a tale that may make youy guys proud! ~ so I own a saxo (i know, not the most retro of cars) and I'm a member on saxperience... when one of the members there bought an mx-5, bruce's 'teenage dirtbag' thread was linked. I was instantly hooked on the whole idea of A52, the reporting and photography is enough to get any petrol head wanting a part of it! Anyway, from the forementioned thread, i was linked here, and have sat sporadically reading it for about 3 days!
I'm sad to hear its gone quiet, but seriously, this is exactly what the car scene needs to be like, and if i could ever get involved, i'd jump at the chance!

Welcome to the forum I don't think it's necessarily gone quiet, but as we've all gone from 'internet acquaintances' to proper friends over the last couple years, it's far easier to communicate by phone, on FB or whatever. It does mean that the thread gets neglected a bit and isn't always a true reflection of what is actually going on. Hopefully there will be plenty of pics from the next play weekend ;D

I've said I won't be able to attend, but still hoping for a change of plan closer to the date. Surely there's some dishes that need doing?! I'll most likely be in a new vehicle too......
