You scored 60% Practical, 58% Theory, and 64% Performance! You have a good idea how the stuff works, and you understand some diagnostics and repair as well as tuning and performance. You probably get a lot of phone calls and emails from your buddies, asking for advice on repair shops, what vehicles to buy, and what go-fast stuff works and what's junk. You're rightfully proud of your knowledge and skills, but you've still got a lot left to learn. Fret not; resources like my own 'Motorcycle Fuel Injection Handbook' will go a long way toward your understanding of gasoline-powered four-stroke engines, and what tuning gizmos are truly useful. Keep up the good work!
well rounded, huh i only need look in the mirror to tell you that ;D ;D

can someone tell me what all of that meant. i only know how to bolt/ unbolt stuff, what makes what turn and why, and how much tape you need to use to get home. I'm a cruiser so i don't particularly care about the chemistry sh1t or what " "(insert any word of that text), does as long as it keeps doing it. apologies if i surprise some of you with my lack of knowledge. dave

Bit of a strange test but hers the results Major Gearhead You scored 69% Practical, 69% Theory, and 84% Performance! You are the complete package; you know the scientific fundamentals, and you have put them into practice with not only practical diagnostic and repair knowledge, but a brilliant mind for tuning. You could probably have written my book, 'The Motorcycle Fuel Injection Handbook', yourself. Email me; maybe we will collaborate on something!
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
You scored higher than 53% on Practical You scored higher than 61% on Theory You scored higher than 96% on Performance

You scored 65% Practical, 69% Theory, and 63% Performance!
Not bad..... more of a science quiz than tuning though!

To the guys who don't understand why theres science questions in a tuning quiz - erm, how do you expect to know how to tune an engine if you don't understand the chemistry and physics involved? Just trust the advertising and buy stuff in pretty boxes and hope it all works together?
I remember a lad asking me about learning about tuning, so I suggested he read "Fundementals Of Motor Vehicle Techology" by a guy called Pittock IIRC. Said kid says "nah, I don't want to know how it works just how you make more power".
I have difficulty following that attitude. Since I could read I've been reading how car stuff works.
Anyone can buy some stuff and bolt it together, but a car is a system of interlinked subsystems all must work together correctly and compliment each other. This is why one guy builds a Pinto Mk1 Escort can't get better than 15s out of it and another guy builds a car with about the same parts and his runs 13s, or one guys car slithers round corners and another bites the tarmac and hugs the curve.
Anyway, just IMHO, I've always taken stuff apart since I was old enought to hold a screwdriver. I have to know how it works.
Don't want to sound like a smug know it all, because I don't know it all and theres a whole load of stuff I've tried to understand and I just have to keep coming back to in order to finally begin to get it to sink in.
Seek knowledge as knowledge is power.

The last sentence is rubbish, otherwise, I'm really chuffed
The Dealership Guru You scored 76% Practical, 66% Theory, and 65% Performance! Your knowledge of combustion theory, combined with your impeccable knowledge of diagnostics and repair, marks you as a senior or dealership mechanic. But every shop has one guy who is looked upon by the other mechanics as "The Boss"; the guy who had forgotten more than most guys have ever learned, the guy who always knows which exhaust system will make a bike or car really rip. You're calm, measured and knowledgeable, and your customers ask for you by name.
I like the idea of being called "The Boss" lol
