Don't clamp the springs to lower it, just cut them and wire them in place, or find similar but much shorter springs. Clamping them will increase the spring rate even more than cutting them, for the same drop, because you'll end up with half of the spring acting as a "spacer" so for the same ride height, you'll have less "active" coils. They'll already be too stiff as it is - Which is why it's so high . You don't want it mega stiff or the thing will be bouncing all over the road.

I was thinking about a gazebo type thing so It can be used as a room so to speak.
and I'm sorry about spelling mistakes, I'm an idiot!
I don't really know how or where to cut the springs so it would work? Iv never done that kind of thing before. I believe the springs coils are smaller at the top and bottom if i remember correctly?

Oh, curse word. In which case you can't cut them, really Got any pictures of the setup? I can just make one out in one of the pics you've posted, and by the looks of if the spring is separate.
Perhaps swap in something like a corsa rear spring - they are pigtailed both ends and quite short. Also soft!

could I not just take the springs off? or will it just sink on the shockers? would the anti-roll bar not keep it intact?

shame Right time for a short update of what I did yesterday This is the resin, nothing special mind you lol expensive stuff so I gather lol and I accidentally wasted a load, and got told off by my dad lol I don't know if you can make it out on these pictures but it has been coated and then very fine kiln dried sand is thrown over it for roughness and then I stripped all the bits off that would be a nuisance for when we spray it and thats about it... next update will be next week, we will be spraying the poly on and hopefully getting the inside done

very close now! Been a very busy weekend and I'm knackered! I cant be arsed to type so i'll let the pics do the talking..... protection and filling in some gaps with silicone/filler - After 6+ hours of trying to get the sprayer running finally we have life these were taken at night so its not gr8, but basically we finished it with a "lunar landscape" effect my old man recons  (it covers up imperfections in the spraying shhhhh) a quick video of the sprayer in action if your at all bothered how it works...( a little bit of back ground - its a 2 part mixture, polyurethane and ?isothane? and it mixes at the very tip of the gun! if they mix ANYWHERE else in the system, it could take hours to clean! basically it dries in 12seconds and its rock solid! great for floors, walls anything you want to protect it will do it! ) Daytime pics - the interior is a little tatty so that may have a respray later on, the boarding is 9mm plywood, the glass will need tinting with black spray as some idiot decided to angle grind  inside the car and melted spots in the glass, a little annoyed to say the least anyways, i ran out of wood so couldnt finish the last little section of the floor, also I need some paint to do the outside this next week first time I will ever spray a large object with a pot sprayer so should be fun! oh and this is what happens when you mix a dirty pipercross with very strong degreaser - the water was actually more black than what the photo has made it! sooooo like a naughty girl I HAVE fitted it back on my car, and by god she shifts! the power gain/response is awesome! and the noise is also amazing! If I destroy another MAF with it (which it shouldnt cos it is now 1000000% oil free!) then i'll make love to a dog or something.....

Nathan you have been a busy boy, does Tash really trust your welding?! There are a few public weighbridges round here, nearest one is in Wootton, next to my village, might be on in Barnetby, not sure. Still think you should paint it green to match the mirrors though I know that would attract attention. Now you have the 155 alloys you're going to need another set for the trailer plus spares! I'm coming to see this soon, it looks exciting stuff.

tbh i don't trust my own welding! haha I'm gonna have to get a couple more speedlines, there are a few about. But for the time being i will leave the teledials on until I can afford them. I need to refurb/or if I'm lazy just respray the set iv got and they need 2 new tyres so iv got that to do anyways...so all the wheels will match for the time being. its all good either way. The weight at the front is a little heavy mind you...oh well iv also got the tow hitch system and all the electrics to fit. I'm not sure about the electrics though....all of that needs grinding and then painting GREEN haha

My dad went and bought £140 worth of paint....poor man having to fork out all that money! and I want him to pay for my remap next month for my birthday
so basically now we have the primer, exact paint match, and laquar! and I'm really really scared! especially about the laquar part...never sprayed it from a pot sprayer. Iv sprayed bumpers and stuff from a pot sprayer and got a really good finish, but never with laquar! took me 4 attempts to get my green mirrors to look even fairly good and that was out of a can
you will have to wait and see, probs next week if its good weather! problem is I'll be spraying it outside, on a farm and guess what has just started?.....harvest! so that means dust and flies everywhere!

Quick update - Got my tow bar fitted on the car and now look what I can do.....(without lights atm ) yes its long, but don't worry going to get a jockey wheel this next week and then shorten the bar so it will all be pretty.... I am behind schedule due to my foot being injured so I will spray the trailer as I now have a building to do it on the farm away from dust more to follow!

Interesting build to me since I'm planning to make a camper-car-trailer thing further down the line. Looks like a much simpler construction than I was expecting, especially with the very simple chassis/tow bar set up. The car body looks very short, I presume it's not going to be for sleeping in.

it looks short but thats what the box is for at the front! its over 6ft and I can sleep in it with comfort with as many girls as possible to keep me warm

awesome, don't forget though that the shorter you make the towbar the harder it will be to reverse

iv just cut the draw bar down today and fitted a jockey wheel so its alot easier to move about but like u said the reversing side of things is a little more difficult, but the main thing is I can actually see where I'm reversing as the trailer isnt that big...so its all good

could I not just take the springs off? or will it just sink on the shockers? would the anti-roll bar not keep it intact? gas shocks will keep it up off the bump stops as long as you don't load it up to much, the gas keeps the oil under pressure to raise its boiling point, the upshot of that is that the shock will support some weight by itself.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.
