well, its HOME! after 3 trains, rain, air horns and various northern happenings here it is: sorry but thats the only piccy i've got cause my phones broken, cameras broken and I can't draw lol! have one off the advert got to say massive thanks to ian for being such a top guy and being completely honest about the car. and also for giving the dixie horns a blast so we could find him in the carpark, stopped the town! its a 5.2 318ci small block with auto on the column, more velour than you could shake a pimp at and its minty tidy apart from a few little bubbles which will be easily sorted. been everywhere in it and loving every minute. came with soooo much history, was shipped straight from chrysler military vehicles division to germany for a sergeant in the british army. got old maps, letters, pdi tick sheets, spare keys, tons of stuff. Brilliant!! just one problem got to sort asap which is a cronic misfire, reset the static timing and checked firing order but as its got a dual point dizzy i'm not sure how you set these up timing wise and the points up apparently they don't both open at the same time?? help! will get more pics! feel free to 'shop

the duel points are there so you can get a decently long dwell for a decent spark even with the small 8 lobe pionts cam.. just set the timing the same as you would with single points (basically it will fire only when both points are open) but use the gap of the points (both to be set the same) to give a nice long dwell angle..
look up the mallory/msd/accel site for "how too's" to set them up..
nice car there. usable sized mopar with a v8 too... si

That's a right beauty! I'd love to wear a plaid suit and floor that around everywhere, launching the hubcaps off on corners. Nice one!
Let's have a look at the back, they have a nice back.

a piccy courtesy of my dad done about 200 miles this weekend and its been fantastic. dialled out the misfire so its smooooooooooth! bought some new ht leads tho, £18.99 bargain! plans are to give it a full service, touch up any areas of flaky waxoyl underneath (hardly any), sort the few little scabs on the body, dress up the engine, and redo the exhaust. at the moment its a 2-into-1 with a single pipe and yamaha R1 silencer on the end. gonna swap this for a silencer in the centre with a discreet tailpipe, still want it to sound uber v8 tho!! oh, and if the dizzy plays me up again its going in the bin, a brand new single points one is only £79.99 not worth keep faffing about with it.

I agree with hirst, you aren't allowed to drive it wearing anything else than a plaid suit and a flat cap hat ;D

don't worry ian, i've calmed down with the dizzy a bit now lol, it got on my wick a bit. its running really well now. took it to work today got it spinning the tyres in the rain like a good 'un love it to bits me and my mate chris went cruising in it tonight had a right laugh. as for economy, its rather good on a run. we put £58 quid of optimax in at southport which is 3/4 tank and thats lasted til today approx 190 miles later. pretty damm good i reckon. got to park it up til the weekend now tho, got to make some petrol money!

a bit of fettling has occured! gave it a service, new plugs and leads, oil with additive, coolant etc. found a split brake hose but got one within 24hrs from american autoparts for £17.00, bargain! google really is a godsend with a yank, went on champion.com and fram.com to get part numbers for filters and stuff and got my local factor to cross ref. cheap as chips then tonight I hit it with some rake, a 24mm spanner and a tape measure all thats needed to wind the adjusters on the torsion bars and get a cool 2" drop. also popped the hubcaps off and re-painted the steels satin black , removed the bonnet mascot (got it safe!) and BANG we have a much more hot rod kinda four door! a bit of ebaying earlier, scored an original 70's dodge keyring, edelbrock chrome air filter and some LED brake bulbs. I LOVE MY CAR

well, to celebrate 4 months of motoring. a little update....
the exhaust went in the skip and in its place a citroen centre box with 2.5" outlet dumping just in front of the axle for max rumble. made out of odds n sodds so free!
chrome edlebrock air filter mounted using part of the base of the old filter to adapt it to a 2bbl carb and fitted a mr gasket chrome breather in the rocker cover. just need to repaint a few more bits to tidy the engine.
then on saturday, disaster!! went out and found the tyres flat. blew them up and took it the tyre centre. "Can't be repaired pal, tyres are too old and perished. the insides are just falling apart" so i said well i know there a bit cracked but too old??? "yeh, they we're fitted in 1984" sheeeeet! now i ain't been shy with the old loud pedal so i had been risking a sodding great big blowout. not good.
and at £49 a pop fitted its parked up for a while til i get some work in and can get it sorted. new tyres will probably stop the comedy cop car tyre squeal too dammit. bad times.....
but i did manage to bang a load more waxoyl under it to keep it minty. next stop, sorting the couple of scabs.
