well, I was in need of something different, done the 205 gti and golf gtis and was loooking for a r5gtt... rang insurnace to find they want 600 more to insure the r5 so I picked up this instead 1.4 turbo running a t25 turbo uprated ic etc quick as fook! I recon its running 160-170 bhp as it pulls better then all my other cars got a side exit ehaust which sounds awsome, not to loud but meaty as fook I think its pretty cool abit querky as you don't see many about thoughts? the turbines are forsale if anyones intrested, running prada spec 2 tyres and there satin black

Do like R11s. I've had three of them and really rate them. Ph1 Turbo would be very very nice although pretty rare now.
That looks nice though, as you say they can be surprisingly quick ;D

Loverly cars i used to have one years ago same colour early one until the clutch went. I sold it for £100 some lads came down about 1 o clock in the morning and payed me in pound coins lol wierd.
I will always remember the seats and the way they reclined in an arc.

Would that be the same engine in the R5GT turbo then?

Nice. I recall when I was younger seeing 9's and 11's everywhere, but they do all seem to have disappeared. Nice tidy example you have there though --Phil

Back in 1999 i had a D reg phase two in black, it cost me £600 and was rapid, my mate had bought a rs turbo fiesta and mine was just a little bit quicker than his which made him unhappy as he had paid £6000 for his ;D the bit i loved were the front seats, you pull the leaver and the whole seat used to slide so that you would be looking at the roof way cool

Used to see quite a lot of turbos around our way, but then again that's all in respect, Escort RS turbos were popular, as were various other sporty versions.
Maybe I'm just mentally blanking out all the cooking models that I used to see!
