do you drive round humming deneeer neer, deneeer neer, doob dobbidy doo doo, deneer deneer ....ad infinitum? :-) Well I would but I've downloaded all the tracks used in The Sweeney (including the theme tune) so I can listen to them whilst pretending to screech around chasing a beaten up old Jag' full of blaggers...! God forbid if I actually do come across one one day, that'd be a bit hairy to say the least...

Blimey that barn find Granada is completely fudged (are there any more snaps of it on this forum?)...!!! It could yield some useful part for other needy Granada's out there so it would be well worth breaking unless someone is brave enough to give it a new lease of life...

I think parts is about all it's good for. Some of the wiring has been chopped and the fuel line cut too for some reason. Kids have got in the barn and hit the windows and dash through and it looks like Mice/Rats have been dining on the interior since the 80s. The engine is seized solid as well.

I had a simaler problem with a mk 2 granada years ago, that turned out to be the fuel pump. Sounds like a fuelling issue to me too. Is there a fuel pump relay in it? I'd pretty much the same problem in my E30 when she was hot and it turned out to be a duff fuel pump relay. Love the car!

I purchased a new fuel pump from eBay yesterday so when it arrives I will be testing it out and hoping for the best...! I will certainly look into the relay for the pump too... Cheers

Ok so here is my latest acquisition folks, I haven't had any Sweeney moments yet but I'm sure there are many to come as this is most definitely a keeper... Holy cow sir that is one gorgeous Blue Oval barge you have there... As a fan of The Sweeney and a fan of big luxury motors of the 1970's that ticks each and every box for me...!!! I WANT IT...

Thanks retrobargelover (well thanks to you all really!)... The Sweeney connection was definitely a deciding factor over this purchase!!! I kept watching this clip for inspiration...
...and I think that is a good enough reason to get a Mk1 Granada...!!!

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you

i had a car that had a similar sounding problem to yours.couldn't figure it out, neither could the garage.was completly random in its cutting out etc.turned out to be some grit in the fuel tank.sorted that, and it was fine! also, ive got a number for a guy who breaks mk1 and 2 granadas.used him recently, seems ok. cant remember his name though, number is 07980919081. also, craig, where abouts in somerset is that granada?

Just got my new fuel pump so I'm hoping this is going to cure my rough running woes...! On another note does anybody out there know of a good place to get a fuel tank cleaned out and coated (or whatever they do to its insides and outsides!)...? I believe mine has got some rust in and will most certainly not be helping the way that glorious V6 motor runs...! Next up is the valve stem oil seals and a steel timing gear (the fibre ones have a reputation for self destruction!) so when funds permit this will be seen to I reckon that could be quite labour intensive...?!?!?!

try and get to listen to a car with steel timing gears before you fit them, they are a little noisy, but its better for piece of mind,Ace car mate, love it!
