THE HUMMER TANK BEAST....Not really a tank, but not far off! After a long wait, and afew outbids later, I finally Got myself a rite little pearla! I picked up (quite litrally) a 86' Honda Acty pickup! (acty meaning activity) Boasting a massive spec list.... Rear engine drive just like a Porsche! Sporty like a Focus RS! 2 seater like a Caterham and as Low as your grandmas mobility scooter....that's about it really. Started first time, 1 owner from new, full service history, and is Mind bogalingly nippy! I had a full blown race with a service bus! Yes, it was pulling away from me at first, Granted, but I soon got the momentum going and got to the end of the yard just before him....Ohhh yehhhh, thats how I roll! Out of sum of the cars I have had in the past, this draws all the attention and everyone has wanted to take it for a spin, propper laugh! + I think its smaller than a beford rascal? So anyway, the plans. Simple really: This is going to be taking me to Ibiza this September and then a European trip on the way home. The lads are going on Honda C90's, where as I will have shelter lol. ZZR1400 Motorbike engine conversion with usual mods for starters. Wide-arches, Slammed on a set of Deep dish alloys with spacers all round. The cab will be extended back 6" to allow abit more room inside for; Rollcage, Bucket seat & Harness, Hydro handbrake and a better Steering wheel. The bed' will have a fuel cell, oil and coolant tank and battery located there instead of underneath. Front splitter, with oil cooler on the front hucked up for the brakes. Coolovers, J style plates and a Respray. ....Perhaps some random stickers. I work 7 days a week, and weird hours so I can only work on the cars when I get time, which is why at 3am this morning I was fitting a new master cylinder, mocking up a rollcage and trying to shoe horn an old bucket seat into her. Bonus's are:I think iv sourced a zr engine Its not a van. Bad bits are:THE WHEEL FITMENT ARE 4x120PCD!!!! & I'm not sure if any other makes or modal parts fit? (mini, rascal, supercarry?) An idea of the type of look I'm going for:What it looks like at the momement:. . . . ....Untill then, this is my pee about, Sa-weeeeeeeeeeet! IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND STANDERED OR MODIFIED PARTS THEN PLEASE LET ME KNOW lol

early mazda will fit, or some off a early civic or s600. not a common pcd. why not switch the rear axle for a diahatsu or rascal and some adaptors for the front. you could flip the rear axle at the same time, but not sure lower is better for handling on these

If you're after some dish then you'll find what you need on Yahoo japan auctions. 4x120 for RWD offset are easier to get that ones for FWD, which is the only sort of offset that'll go under the arches. I run some 13" SSR's I bought for my Mk1 Civic on my Acty but they'll be changing for something a bit fatter at some point. I think I'll be redrilling hubs to 114.3 PCD though. Lowering them does improve handling on them, which to be fair isn't as bad as you'd expect to start with. Mine is down 3" on coilovers up front and decambered leaves with reversed eyes in the back. There's actually not much clearance above the wheels front or rear even at this height so to get down more would require smaller diameter rims or major surgery. If you go wide for flares the drop sides will be useless so if you want to keep them on it, I'd just ditch the hinges etc and weld them on permenently so you just have a drop tailgate like a normal pickup. As it's a de-dion rear axle set-up, swapping in an axle isn't really that easy and TBH, for minimal unsprung weight, it's best to keep it as is I reckon. It wouldn't be hard to install a sprocket assembly where the stock diff sits to chain drive the rear end. You could probably ditch the leaves for a four link as well. If you did that then you can alter the axle width to accomodate whatever wheels you use or is you wanted to get really trick just ditch the lot and build your own IRS. Here's my Acty...

Yummie! And it really needs a Blackbird engine not a Kawas*cker.
I wonder, is 4x120 not a PCD found on ATVs?

Thanks for the info' people! Yeh iv seen your acty mate, had a read the other day I was wondering wether to change the back drive for one off a rascal, so I have a diff and prop. Wouldn't it be easier and better than a chain and sprocket? Anyone know of any alloys going?

For simplicity, going to a live axle would be good but it adds a fair bit of unspring weight and with and open diff would tend to spin one wheel where as the original setup puts the power down more evenly inn a similar manner to IRS. You might also find you'd have to shift the engine forward to make room for a reasonably length prop. That's not too much of an issue but again, having the motor as far back as it is would be good for traction.
I'm keen to see how this one goes together!

UPDATE!I ended up buying a Hyabusa for the engine! BUT 2 days later I ended up selling that for twice what I bought it for lol!! The same week I purchased, Bride Bucket seats, Various Metal, Hydro' handbrake, a fuel cell and Seatbelt harnesses + afew other bits... Work really got the better of me, and The project sadly stopped and havent really done anything to it since....Except drive around the yard. The other day I decided it was time for an MOT! its getting icey outside, so this bad boys going drifting soon lol. So, I Started her up, realised it needs brake cylinders on the front....Which are litrally RARE as poor quality wobbly children's play pony sh*t! I searched and searched absolutely everywhere....Honda, ebay, breakers, motor factors, back of magazine adds, in my grandads shed....the lot....No joy! No one wanted to refurb them either, so I was left with afew options, Sell it, Scrap it, Strip it or just upgrade the lot for different setup....But that means abit of time and cash! lol SO, I ended up Buying a whole new pickup haha! This is the Donor car:Uploaded with ImageShack.usI will be using this for the parts I need to get the other thru an MOT and once that been sorted! LET THE MODDING BEGIN Sat in the shed I have 4 spare engines doing nothing:- 600bhp XR4x4i turbo Engine and running gear!!!! - 200bhp Rover T-series Engine - 140bhp Puggy 1.6 106 GTi Engine - 160bhp Rover 1.8 VVC Engine Seeing as I already have them, and I'm not going down the Motorbike engine route anymore! WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE! ? Oh and if anyone has any Cheap/Freebies to make it look good let me know! Arches, Stickers, Wheels, GearKnob etc.... Random pics: Cheers for now

Hi,
I import stuff from Japan. Do you want me to look into what wheel you can have? I bought my hayashi street in Yahoo auction and imported for a trial. Import duty is 4.5% and VAT on top of that. So it can be expensive but if you want wheels which stands out. You have to pay a bit I guess.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers Atchi
