That's just lovely. Great to see one in such fine fettle. Back in the 80's one of my mates had a fixed-head TR7 with a modified Sprint lump, here it is with a 23 year-old me mugging it up for the camera ;D Those are the old 'works'-style lamp pods but at the time you couldn't get Chevette flush headlamps for love nor money, so he jury-rigged some cheap spotlights with proper bulbs to get it on the road. That's what's now Avon Park dragstrip, it looked a bit different 22 years ago!!!

Wow nice find, the paint looks mint! Get some Revolutions / Minilites / MGF alloys on there for the win! Wedgetastic!

Wow nice find, the paint looks mint! Get some Revolutions / Minilites / MGF alloys on there for the win! Wedgetastic! I scored these on e-bay this week - quite cheap and the ad said 'good tyres'. When I went to pick them up the wheels are in great nick and the tyres are all brand new, still with the stickers on and have never touched the road ;D They are BF Goodrich 195/50 x 15's so are bound to handle better than the 20 year old budget brand 13" ones currently on the car If it stops raining I'll put up a pic of them on the car (I hope they fit, I'm told that they will just bolt on......... Will change the centrecaps for Triumph ones if I can find / make some the right size.

That is lovely!, I'm not sure if the interior colour goes well with the exterior colour though personally!.
I wish there was house sales like that around these parts.

That is really nice!
Had one a few years ago, it was a dog of a car but I miss it badly and would love another! My abiding memory of it was trying to get the head off after it dropped a valve. With the head seized on the studs, I jacked the car up on one side to almost 45 degrees so I could get a straight lift with my engine crane... (Head is on at an angle, non-TR7 aficionados!)
Had no idea MGF wheels were a bolt-on…!
Very nice looking car mate, Top Purchase! (Making me jealous!)

Orsums! Triton Green is my favourite TR7 colour. Wheels should suit it.

Will change the centrecaps for Triumph ones if I can find / make some the right size. well, the wheels look like they will fit - obviously I don't want MG centrecaps so as usual I looked for the minimum cost option sprayed them with some gunmetal grey paint I had kicking around, then added some lime green #7's I got on a big sheet of self adhesive numbers for 99p and added liberal coats of laquer on top. I quite like them and the green matches the colour of the TR7 Also got a set of the proper wheel nuts off e-bay for a tenner so bunging them on will be my first job at the weekend.....

That TR7 looks ace! What a great color too! I was going to say what madman specs Triton Green with a navy blue interior, but you said it was a BL management car and that explained it. ;D Looking forward to some pics of it on those wheels, it'll be interesting to see how it looks.

great car love the whole triumph range of that era but best of all love the old impulse buy but i want to know how things like this never happen to me! I'm one of those people that has to pay over the odds for everything then end up selling it as a bargain to someone else haha but i guess ill get my reward in the next life . . . . not! good luck with the cool motor dude!

So, the snow has gone so that seemed a good enough excuse to put the TR7 back on the road. She went straight through the MOT and I brought her back home this week from the barn where she's been lurking all winter. Spent the afternoon with T Cut and polish in hand in my garage and I was really chuffed when an old boy walking past asked if he could come over and have a look. He said he really liked it and had owned one in the late 70's. Kinda restores your mojo a bit when you get random positive comments from strangers. I had been thinking of selling the TR7 when the weather gets better, but you know what? Now I'm thinking it won't be a bad daily for the summer
