How the hell do know about Burbidges Suffolk Boy?
For all my sins, I spent much of my childhood living just off Weyhill road in Andover, and Burbidges was an almost daily haunt for buns and other treats. Best bakery ever! Incidentally, the Burbidge family lived in a large house with a mile long straight road/drive in a hamlet called Fox, about 4 miles out of town. In the highly unlikely event of them reading this, the long sets of thin black elevens that would often appear on their road about 15 years ago were me. Sorry. (120bhp '56 Morris Minor on crossplys!)
There is nothing more expensive than a cheap Mercedes
Right had a look at on line routeplanners and it's not working out very well - can't really do Colchester meet as it increases my journey distance by 60 miles but can meet up maybe on M25 services if any stops are planned?
we could do south mimms on the M25 for a stop, then you could cruise straight down the A11/M11 Ian
Is everyone alright cruising at the legal limit? wartburg has no trouble cruising at 70, just wondering so we can keep together. I know the monza can cruise that slowly from last year
I'm planning A12, M25, M3, A303 to get there. we could go M3>a30 to miss most of the A303, but that adds a lot on journey time and more chance of getting broken up. we should be early enough to avoid the snarl ups.
70! I struggle to keep at 70 in a modern car let alone the camper!, I will probably settle in to a 65mph cruise so don't mind if every one disapears in to the distance, just save me a nice camping spot!
