Absolutely spot on awesome. I competed with an A35 at Prescott once with a 1380 A series in it, that was pretty mental too!

That's brilliant! I'd have thought he'd manage a 16 second quarter with his ~134 bhp though - 800kg, FWD and 100bhp will do better than that, and surely he weighs less than that?

I have to say that when I uprated my A30 from a 803cc to 1098cc it broke the speedo, so this thing must be bloody mental to drive.LOL

I chatted to the owner before reading the note. I was surprised at his wish for 16s. But half shafts are pretty weak and he said he had to take it quite easy off the line. Pretty sure there uprated versions available fro Spridgets but a turbo motor might well still twist them.
Just for reference, a standard A35 does 0-60 in 30.2

Those specs are not mine, but from a mates old 106 - I've seen videos of it do mid 15s at santa pod, weighed in at 850 ish kg with a 101bhp 106 rallye engine. I'll assume either the gear ratios are miles off (which is probably the case) or the torque curve isn't too flat. EDIT: or as above he has to be gentle in first, Good point

That shows how down on power my 205 must be.... that weighs less than 750kgs, was on yoko 48Rs, supposedly has 85bhp and ran a 17.11 at the pod.

That would have probably been my dream car in 1988. Surely he can't possibly still have the stock half shafts in there as they are utterly feeble!? I broke a few when I had A35's and A40's and I never had more than a mildly tuned 1275cc giving maybe 85hp. Even a 1098 was enough to break one. Swapping out the stock 4.2 diff for a 3.7 from a Riley 1.5 helped to reduce the problem a little but then the gearboxes broke instead.
I would have though that should be capable of mid 15's at least if he could launch it properly.

That is truely beautiful. I'd absolutely love a car like that.
I think it was a different one featured in the magazine as i seem to recall it had a metro turbo lump and was a different shade of blue. Could be wrong though as i've been sleep since i read that!
