This is a real stunner!
I remember the car doing the rounds at various Dorset shows a few years ago. It was always much admired and was nominally up for sale at around £6000 (if memory serves...) at the time!!!
There is another in the Charminster area of Bournemouth, but nowhere near as nice as yours!
Enjoy!

That's interesting news about the shows, The owner who owned it back in the 90's came from Dorset, I'm amazed it was up for £6000, It makes what I paid for it a bargain then! I hope to get it into the Nats on Sunday so some of you guys will be able to see it then

Dude, that is nice, I rekon the 2 door saloon is actually cooler now than the coupe! 8x13s and steinmetz groupe 2 arches, noice! Yes as the owner of the Coupe F posted before, I can confirm I am still on here! It usually gets driven as my daily but has had 6 months off while I "test" my daughters E30 for when she passes her test! Heres a pic of some of the others... www.photobox.co.uk/my/photo/full?photo_id=827883192this is one of mine too, you know that the Opel GT uses the Kadett B floopan don't you? (that can mean lots of spares from US or Germany if you know which bits) www.photobox.co.uk/my/photo/full?photo_id=827883217Stu.

Hey, well perhaps I'll get to see this at one of the VODC meets then? The Heritage Day at Luton on the 26th September would be a good outing for this......

Thanks Stu, I didn't know about the GT, There's no club or parts supply over here so I've been brushing up on my German ebay skillz, Which are lacking! The car did come with a opel-classic-parts catalogue, which is in German so i can't read it!.
Your Kombi must be like poor quality wobbly children's play pony poo, I bet it will look great when finish and your Coupe is lovely.
I spend sometime this afternoon polishing the grill as it was covered in spray waxoil, I also repainted the black bars whilst at it which had tidied it up a lot.
I'm planning to getting to the Nats as it's only around the corner from me, I know it get quite busy booking the cars in so hopefully I'll get it in ok, if not i will be in the car park.
As for Luton Daz, I'll see how it goes!

Hey trigger, just stumbled upon your thread! I am the guy you were talking to at Billing on Sunday about the differences between my HB Viva and your Kadett. You know that kinda 50's style guy with the little lad on the raleigh tomahawk ? As you know I think your Opel is fantastic.

Hi, I remember you! It was nice to meet you and have a chat. I haven't updated this for a while mostly as there hasn't been much to say!, A few months ago the the bottom of the N/S/F wing decided to snap off from the bolt that held it in place to the floor, and as it's been repaired before the filler had started to crack as well making it look tatty. Due to the wings being very rare and expensive to buy I went around a few local bodyshops to get a price on having the bottom of the wing fabricated, a few of them weren't interested in the job and the only one who was wanted £477 to repair it! So I sent the car of to my tamed local mechanic who said that he could make a new lower section and weld it up for me, which he did for £30! ;D Once I got it home I had the job of tiding it up with a little bit of filler before spraying with etch primer. My repair by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr I wasn't 100% happy with the swage line but considering it had been cut into for a patch it came out better then I expected, annoyingly a bit of paint came of the sill as well so I ended up flatting that and blowing into the sill with the paint. I bought one of those Halfords mix paints and was impressed with the result considering the colour. Wings all fixed by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr (The light patch on the sill is the refection from the cardboard btw) I had my first break down last moth as well, On my way back from Billing on the A14 the car overcome with petrol flumes before coming to a stop, I manged to get of the motorway and upon opening the bonnet I was greeted with a red hot engine covered in petrol! After waiting for it to cool down whilst praying for no flames I went back for a check, it turned out the fuel pipe into the carb had blown itself out, There's a little brass tube which is part of the carb which the fuel pipe connects to had come unstuck. I managed to push it back on again and get home without any drama, Since then I've glued it back on with some stuff called J B Kwik which is a special glue like liquid metal. I've also managed to replace my knackered perspex quarter light window with a new bit done at a local garage for £25 fitted which I'm happy with. This was the old bit, the new one looks just like glass. Anyway not to bore you anymore I took some new photos at the weekend, here they are! 1972 Opel Kadett B 1200 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr 1972 Opel Kadett B 1200 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr 1972 Opel Kadett B 1200 by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr My Kadett by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr

Still looks great! I've been looking at it on the AS calendar a lot this month... I do prefer the reflective plates though!
I'm thinking of doing my Allegro a similar colour...

Do it! It's a fact that woman love this colour and that they will be climbing all over your Allegro to get to you if you do this. (This might not happen though), It's called Opel red 529 btw.
I'm still 50/50 about the plates but I think i will be changing them back again as most people seem to prefer them.
