As there's a good chance that I'll be downsizing from a double to a single garage sometime in the near(ish) future it's probably better to start clearing stuff out now rather than leaving it until the last minute.
So with that in mind here's a Ford 1600 CVH engine up for grabs.
Originally this was in a rear wheel drive 1985 Reliant SS1, mated to a type 9 5 speed gearbox. As I understand it the CVH engine was fitted to the Escort XR3 (carb)/XR3i (injection) & other Ford cars.
Since pulling it out of the SS1 I've not cleaned it so it's absolutely filthy. I have removed thecarb/inlet manifold though (which I'll include) & I had to cut the exhaust manifold to get it out of the car - that's also included but possibly isn't much good.
The engine ran & propelled the car along at a decent rate but it smoked quite a lot (especially on start up - not so bad when warm) so I'd say it'd benefit from a rebuild/refresh. I've not lifted the head (or even taken the cam cover off) so I can't tell you what state the cam/bores are in I'm afraid.
I'd like it out of the way as soon as possible (though I'm not available at all this Saturday). I've no idea how much to ask for it so how about £40? This isn't set in stone so if you think it's too much please make me an offer.
I'll try to take some pics tonight & post them on here.
The engine is in Leeds (LS27) & I have an engine hoist at the moment (due to go back to its owner soon though) so I could use that to help lift it into car/van/trailer etc.
Please send me a pm if interested
