Deserves to be in the Manifesto thread, but I have no reply function when I open it up That's kind of the whole point of the manifesto, it's moderator controlled so only the really good stuff gets in. If everyone was allowed to post there then it would have 10 new pages per day. Commers are definitely really cool, although sadly I don't see enough of them!

I love the vans, must be a cheap alternative to the vw's, and more unique

I have a massive Commer Camper shaped itch that one day I must scratch. What are they actually like to drive though? with that wheel tuck they look like they could be a bit dicey in the bends?

The old man used to have a 'Dodge' version of these, great old van that lasted for years........Certainly a great alternative to a VW bus & a hell of alot cheaper!

The early non plastic fronted ones are all lovely, but in my book this thing speeds immediately into the 'fugly' category, and straight out the other side, into a zone marked 'ultimate win' LOVE it - and I don't know why

I also have love for the Commer vans; the Green Citrus one and the Chrysler race team ones are beautiful! Back in the 70's early 80's my mate Steve worked for Telecom and drove one. Going in it was quite an alarming experience as it had no 'handling' to speak of, allied to his driving (like he stole it) style. He actually managed to barrel role one in Mayes rd in Wood Green after clipping the curb which made the local paper much to his pride...

The little roundy commer vans are lovely, definitely prefer them to VWs any day. I wouldnt mind that flat fronted police walk thru either, the blue one
