This is a UK car and a real kei, 659cc, turbo, intercooler, 3cyl (12v) twin cam ... Its very nippy and surprises quite a lot of people.
I bought this at the beginning of the year from Qwertina who got it from Hirst, so its been around RR for a bit. Since I've had it its been completely reliable, had 4 new tyres, new front pads, been serviced every 3k (next due @ 92k). Its had a new windscreen and a home-made hybrid turbo fitted, the turbo is currently running 0.8bar and is approx 1000 miles old. Sorry but I will be removing the boost gauge to put it in my rally 'zato.
Bad points:
Bonnet is the wrong colour, it was sprayed matt black to stop rust coming through, which has worked.
Theres a few bits of rust coming through, odd spots here and there, the worst is on the o/s/r wheel arch, and theres a couple of spots on the tailgate.
The clutch is high on the pedal, so I think it'll need changing soon. I've been told it takes the same clutch as the std UK Mira/Cuore, which are bout £70
Suspension is quite soft - but I think the car is supposed to be like that. Ask me nicely and I'll throw in some Avanzato springs I've got spare which should be a bit stiffer.
Ariel is broken so radio reception is poo
Reason for sale ... see sig - I have too many kei cars, they're small fun and quite addictive
Swaps/p/x ... I really shouldn't but try me if you must.
The turbo hybrid is RHF3 (VQ32/VIBG) the turbo was on its way out so I have replaced most of it with the turbo from a Corsa 1.5D. This has a larger compressor side while retaining the exhaust side so it fits on to the stock manifold/downpipe. Its more powerful than the original but would be greatly improved with the addition of a less restrictive air filter and intercooler... I will be fitting the same hybrid turbo to my rally kei later this year as I think its great.
