Slow progress this week , but saw something I aint seen in a while last night.... Battery is now on to aid with testing for ign' lives etc whilst wiring new 12v ignition system up (old system was ballast resisted). I've opted for the Lumenition optronic PMA50 set up combined with a Lucas 12v non-ballasted coil. This will do for now until the truck is back on the road , then i'm gonna have a stab at an HEI set up as the high resistance (over 3ohms) required to run the optronic is not exactly ideal for gaining the best possible spark , anything under 3ohms resistance will burn out the optronic unit , which is a shame as all the stronger coils have a primary resistance of under 1ohm. Other progress this week: Dizzy and leads fitted. Coil and Lumenition module positioned and fitted (still not wired up yet though). New throttle linkage fabricated and cable fitted. Throttle now fully functional. Bonnet release cable fitted. And last but not least , brakes and clutch master cylinder reservoirs filled with fluid and brakes and clutch bled up meaning I now have 3 fully functioning pedals in the cab! Not long now......

I desperately wanted to have this running before the end of 2010........So I did! She f@cking ROARED into life an hour ago. Just gotta get her plumbed in and cooled now so that I can run her longer than a minute. Unfortunately that means tackling some clearance issues with water pump and radiator. First though I shall be tidying and finishing the wiring harness as it's currently in "rough draft" form. haha Short vid , Running rough as f@ck and misfiring it's cock off for now due to carbs and ignition timing both being miles out , but she starts... Right , now off to the pub!! Happy new year to all. ;D

A few weeks ago a friend of mine who runs a TVR V8 in his hilux monster truck (and yes... his is a proper monster truck , not just a lifted truck like mine) decided he would ditch his 3.5 TVR lump in favour of a chevy vortec 450bhp 400lbft unit. So basically he offered me all of the good bits from his 3.5 for my truck at a VERY reasonable price , so I ended up buying his exhaust headers (which flow much better than mine and are far superior quality) his full twin side exit exhaust system , his edelbrock performer manifold and last but not least his 500cfm Holley 4 barrel carb. Best part is that none of the bits are very old and they ra like a dream on Si's truck. I arrived home from work half an hour ago and promptly p*ssed my knickers when I realised there was 3 rather large looking parcels waiting for me. ;D Yup , my new carb and intake manifold have finally came as have my new exhaust headers and exhaust system and my word , they certainly haven't disappointed! Upon opening my parcels it became apparent to me just how much of a bargain I've actually got , the bits have far exceeded my expectations. Pure unadulterated V8 porn!! Pics: (note , can of stella is included in pics to give an idea of scale).

I've not a bad little shift in the garage tonight considering how bad the day at work went beforehand. lol After fitting the Edelbrock manifold last night I left it 24 hours to let the GM grey sealer cure on the valley gasket (awesome stuff , seals everything mint first time!). So tonight I proceeded to fabricate all the little extra bits needed like throttle brackets etc.. and fitted the carb and plumbed her in and got her up and running. Throttle cable bracket fabricated from a peice of flat bar.... Carb fitted... And what would be a night in the garage without a quick vid of the results.... Just need to sort cooling system out now and I'm good to go.

awesome project and the work so far looks first grade, really impressive! The bttf pickup is probably my favourite all time 4x4 and I've wanted one since I was a kid, but with that soundtrack too keep the pics coming
