I have always liked the 164.. I thought it had such a lovely front end. The other day I was at a spring car meet in Copenhagen. I ended up waiting in line with this: A nice 164 from 1970 :-) One year younger then my Jaguar. I had to take that shot! So much alike and yet so different! I like both of them! The Volvo is on hijacker's which gives it a bit of an offload look. But if it was lovered just a bit like my car then it would be perfect :-) Keep up the good work! And Spring greetings from Copenhagen! :-)

Nice carbs Cesar. Hope they will find their place soon on the engine. ? and weather will be better for sure. At least here in Latvia I can even keep spanners not freezing my fingers off. ?

Another small update. Front lights, fog lights, turning signals and tail lights all cleaned, repaired, painted and all assembled and ready to be installed on the car. Eletricly wise its only missing the front lights loom and the upgrades like security system, remote door locks and the stereo but that will be after its ready to hit the road...

Just another small update... My brother bought a MIG welder the other day and since it came to my home I started to do some tin repairs just to test and learn. Now I started patching the doors on the Volvo and the back end where the bumper secures. Now i'm almost done but I'm waiting for a new welding helmet and to buy some sheet of metal to finish the job... Yesterday I won a pair of new brake discs for it at 26€ delivered.
It's time to finish it... as so the other Volvo 164 around here....

Hi Cesar. Nice to hear that you are going forward. And as you know te project car - it can not be finished. You can only update it. BR and good luck with your 164.

Just waiting for the ear protectors as I already have a radiator fan from a B14EE from a Volvo 360 to do the ventim in my small welding space...
Need to finish the doors and rear panel to finish the ehxaust next as it needs some finishing touches...

Time for some photos... My 92€ delivered welder. My Automatic welder mask with some spare lenses... Fully eletronic adjustable... This is my makeshift doors suport so I can do some welding... The first repair with the new welder, as you can see it's not perfect but it is strong now as there was a hole and patched with bondo. The 2nd try is way better... Now it's only missing this small 2mm gap and another patch just like this one. There was a hole and a missing securing nut in the back to bolt the support for the rear bumper. Made the new metal plate, found a nut, made a hole for the bolt and welded all in place. Not the best photos but I'll take another when making the last piece of welding on the car, hopefully... The state of the front still looks like an 164 Volvo ...hehehehe Won these but they don't fit my car just the 69 to 71 ones if anyone is interested just let me now...
