Right, once again this forum is going to get me a rollocking, and the blame is directy attributed to this thread as I've just bought an RB5 in need of a bit of engine TLC...
So would the RR'ers who got me in this mess please let me know all about RB5's in order to pacify the better half ?!!!
Ha, glad to be of service!
So, the RB5... As I said in the original post:
Built to mark Richard Burns' return to the WRC in car number 5 in '99, 444 Impreza RB5s were built in Steel Blue. Differences from the standard Impreza Turbo were largely cosmetic, but the addition of the WR Sport Performance Pack and the Prodrive Suspension Pack resulted in what the experts reckon is one of the best Imprezas ever.
You should also have fully colour-coded exterior, alcantara/cloth blue & black seats, aircon, unique Prodrive-logoed titanium-finished 17s, quick-shift, roof-mounted maplights, Momo wheel and a build number on a plaque on the centre console.
Do you know if yours had the WR Sport Performance Pack? That'll take you up to about 240bhp and 260lb.ft. (You'll also have a higher rear wing.) Otherwise, the engine is stock Impreza Turbo 2000.
So... any pics? ;D
