couple of updates
took her over to Higham auto's yesterday after work, for a check-over.
pretty much all good, teh wheel bearings are fine, the shell is quite good also
does need some things, namely shocks (which i knew) and the brakes needed adjusting, which Dick did there & then (I'm glad i wear a seatbelt, they are Sharp!) and also needs the ball sorting on the bottom of the gearstick. Now i have one of Uncle Malc's (Malcolm Anderson) nylon balls to fit, but upon hearing whats involved she's now booked in at Higham for next saturday for that, and maybe a service lol
on a sidenote today gave her a wash, and quick polish :-) my paintjobs pretty poor tbh, soo planning a respray in the better weather maybe
can kinda ssee how she look here (also shows the rest of my fleet, including Ary, my beloved limestone 109"

Well thought I'd update this, as she's just put in an amazing performance over the weekend ;D
just added up teh milage, from friday till sunday she travelled around 720 miles :-)
thats Leicester to Manchester friday afternoon, Manchester to London & back saturday, then manchester to Leicester sunday :-)
I think I worked out the fuel economy to be around 44mpg, which considering the trip up there, and the one down to London were completed near flat out (the London one with 4 people)
soo yeah, quite impressed ;D
Also had a bus driver stick his head out at the lights to ask about my Imp, and Several people took her pic! Including one who stepped out into teh traffic to do so, infront of me, as the lights changed to green! I love this quote from my girlfriend though as we were sat on Westminster Bridge
"we're sat here with teh houses of parliment infront of us, the thames beneath us, the eye over there & several other pretty buildings, and loads of people are looking at your car! ;D " ;D ;D
However could anybody tell my if its possible to change the driver & passenger front seats around? as the passenger one is in better condition, & my bony butt isn't suited to teh collapsing driver seat

Sorry to hear about your need for a new exhaust, but it's good to see an update on this. Sadly, I can't help out with parts though

Well she got me into alittle bit of trouble today hehehe
normally my cars live in the yard at work, its sort of a hold-over from when I only had my soft top Landy, my Odie being no exception.
However yesterday & today has been the big internal conference at work, held in our showroom. Which is on ground level & looks onto the yard.
Problem is when I went to leave, my Imp needs abit of revs to keep running when cold, thanks tot eh holey exhaust.
which created a little bit of noise, which upset the BIG boss, the man who reports only to the Hargreaves family who own Wolsey (where I work)
Oooops! ;D
got told to Move my car from the yard to the carpark (doesn't really help the noise tbh)
hehehe

alot of people don't get my humour too much. But I still gets laughed at...
gonna paint the manifold later, and try to sort a bung out for it, as its been converted for a sensor for teh Supercharger Blown_Imp had. currently has a sparkplug in the hole, as its teh same thread lol ;D (and she doesn't need a ignitor kit!!)
Also brought a silencer off James (who VERY kindly gave me a competition manifold too! ;D ), soo hopefully she'll be alittle bit more neighbourhood-friendly
Gonna try to fit tehm tomorrow night

Heya! Thought i'd post up about her new exhaust ;D
Last weekend i brought off Blown_Imp a Janspeed manifold, and silencer ;D
Here's the pics & explanation
Firstly a pic of the manifold after had been fitted, and had the silenceer put on to see (was too long, was sitting under the rear crossmember, against it)
(note teh sparkplug acting as bung)
before fitting i'd wire brushed the manifold, and given it a coat of exhaust paint in silver (WEIRDEST paint i've ever used!!) fitting went on fine, took teh chance to change my air filter housing, and fit a new airfilter. After taking the old housing off i decided i'd see what state teh filter was in. There wasn't one!
Well today the link pipe & mandrel bend i'd ordered tuesday turned up, soo fitted them :-)
pic of teh link pipe:
And a final pic of teh finished silencer: (still up on the jack at this point, hence the odd angle)
set her all down, and started her up, sounds lovely :-)
decided to wait abit before going for a drive, as needed to do some things first.
When i finally went for a drive she sounded amazing, Alot smoother too :-D
However returning home suddenly the exhaust started blowing :-(
When i got back & carefully investigated i discovered that the sparkplug bung had fallen out
This was too late in teh day to get a replacement, or even a proper bung!
Soo thats tomorrow's quick fix, before saturday's London trip hehehe
xXx

If you haven't got a bung yet.. The thread is M18x1.5. Useful to remember so you can go to a fixings supplier and pay 50p for a nut to weld in as a boss rather than 10 times that for a proper one or want to plug it with a really short bolt rather than an old sparkplug
