I cut the centre box off, bent the centre of the exhaust up a bit and fitted new rubber doughnut things. Held the exhaust up pretty tight. As low as its possible to go with a Polo: IMHO you still have a decent amount of ground clearance so proves something can be done even with a dropped car. BTW Haven't seen a Classic for ages Paul H

If you leave the centre box in you end up pulling it off at every cats eye. There wasnt room for the centre box between the car and the floor with it that low IIRC.

The centre part on my mk3 would sometimes hit on speed bumps and that wasn't lowered. I just got some thick wire and tied it up with that. Had to re-do it every couple of months, but the car didn't last long enough to bother with anything more permanent.

I used to have a 1964 MKIV Sunbeam Rapier with weak springs and shocks. Use to create massive sparks display for those following on bumpy roads and got flagged down a couple of time by people. This was in early '80's so pre speed hump days and with todays roads the exhaust would probably just get ripped off. Paul H

Just got hold of a centre section with no middle box in, gonna get rid of the cat whilst I fit that then tuck the lot as high as possible. How much lower was yours adam?

Matt 120mm arch to wheel centre reduction at its lowest. That was with it running on some very short bump stops and the driveshafts becoming one with the chassis legs.

Ah right, i've got a similar drop planned for mine once my girlfriend doesn't have to drive it. Matt Notch the chassis legs, lower the steering armsm shorten the struts and stick some mk1 golf inserts in them. That would have been my next step!
