Is sticking a 302 in an old British car optimism? Well, no...but I wanted to re-use the thread title for something better than the previous thread bearing the same name! V8 1954 Sunbeam Talbot Alpine More here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would prefer the car in the current colour, with moondiscs, without the sidepipes and a bit lower but as it is I kind of like the Cobra-esque idealogy that the modifications reference.

You are indeed not the only one! Still a very cool car though ;D A saloon version of one of these would make a lovely custom too: Check out the lack of pillar between the rear door and the 1/4 window behind Suicide rear doors and almost hidden doorhandles FTW! Separate chassis, so the B pillar could be removed (without BIVA issues) for full opening effect:

I kind of like the Cobra-esque idealogy that the modifications reference. Well, putting Yank V8s in Rootes Group motors was a popular pastime with Rootes themselves (Tiger, Humber Imperial V8 prototype) , so it would be befitting the family line. I'd so love to do my own version of the V8 Imperial:

And the early 60s Sceptre with a 289 V8. I don't know what records survive, but in the mid-late 70s my Dad was working at Ryton when the V8 Sceptre prototye was unearthed in a store room. Apparantly it was quite entertaining.

I would take the Alpine in current colour, with the side pipes but with slotmags
