I have a hankering for a funky chunky little retro at the mo, the more my micra nears its realistically unpassable m.o.t!!! I like a low car, but fiat panda 4x4s etc really tickle my pickle, have been doing a bit of research and came across a few cool retro 4x4-cum-car kinda things, I'm sure most of these are known anyway, the 505 and the audi were new to me though! golf country (built by stehr-puch)     505 estate...  AMC eagle   baja bugs...  treser audi...   scooby justy...  2cv sahara twin engine...   any more to add? or thoughts? |

yeah i know! looks awesome  i guess the quattro is mechanical 4x4 so a good base for some mild off road action! is that jetta a synchro? |

If you put on P100 front struts and spaced the rear crossmember down a couple of inches you could build an XR4x4 Sierra in that stylee.

Go for a baja, i had a 1641 motor in mine, it Pulled wheelies and had a fully adjustable front so you could wind it up for a play in the mud or drop it for some serious b road hacking

I see one of the mk2 golfs most days (twice some days), always look and think up what to do with it  and I've always had a big soft spot for Baja Bugs ;D Conversly, I also sometimes follow an audi A4 allroad and can't help butthink how much better it'd look scraping its belly  |

Every time I see an A6 allroad I can't help but think that slammed it would soo good, just a wider more aggressive A6! Did they do an A4 version? This has just been put up for sale by someone on another forum I use: 1979 ADAMS ROTRAXQuite a funky looking thing. |

Sorry for the huge pic but this:  Toyota Tercel, full of win!!  what about a Mitsubishi RVR....  it runs the 4x4 and engine from an Evo i believe  or the Subaru Forester runs the turbo engine detuned from an impreza...  |

Not retro, but:  Kangoo 4x4 diesel, we had one in work and it was superb. A nice looking, tidy, spacious van that could handle off road. |
