58k genuine miles. Old chap bought it new and is now too old to drive so sold it to me. He used to use it locally only (hence low mileage) and keep it in the garage at all other times. Totally standard, mint paintwork, few minor scuffs on the bumpers but thats what bumpers are for? 4 speed, manual choke and no rev counter or digi clock! Tax until end of June and MOT until December. Absolute bargain, a steal I think Keeping it standard... ish & clean. Gives me chance to start the restoration of the XR2.

& a 3 door too. I brought a G plate Bonus many years ago off an ol girl that was very low miles, only problem was she'd backed into a wall on the o/s and crunched the rear quarter up. I was cheap (at the time), I think she wanted £100 for it with 10 months T&T. I straightened the back up a bit & fitted a light cluster (brought at a breakers) & used it for about 18 months, gave it to my sister after this as she'd stuffed her Escort & had nothing. Nice & tidy little car by the look of it.

I love these! The possibilities are endless. The slammed euro looks so good on the base models.
A very good find. If this is a non sunroof you've bagged a good'un. The Rs boys are after these now.

That looks fantastic. A Lad I know had a 1.1 one of these when he passed his test. Got fitted with a 5 speed and a massive sound system. He put it on a hedge racong another mate in his Sunny down the farm track. Dragged it off the hedge fixed it and drove it for another few months haha

It was washed and dried for me before I picked it up which I thought was a kind touch The body is absolutely mint radiant red - I cant quite believe it. And yes no sunroof. It needs new tyres so I may just get some RS alloys and drop it a bit. I have a nice set of XR2i Recaro's sitting in my bedroom waiting to be sat in - They were meant for my XR2 but it's all about which one 'needs' them most. Will get a nice steering wheel too, possibly a different Ford one Oh and, it has an arial with a key... BUT the stereo needs a code, does anybody know how I would aquire that? 3 numbers I think. Anyway, quickly took some pics this morning;

Good choice, I have one as well, I'm not 100% sure if the front bumper is right?, It's the earlier shape bumper but F plate was the change over year so it could be right and that o/s headlight looks a bit wonkly. Looks clean though, Especially the wheel arches, Look out for rust under the battery tray, My one is curse word water through it and into the passenger footwell when it rains.

I thought that about the front bumper too, but judging by the scratches on each corner and the state of the mirror glass I wouldn't be surprised if it was a new one. The car was registered 01/01/1989. Absolutely no rust, under the bonnet, in the boot, on the body.. The one thing letting it down badly are the wheels.
And the stereo - Anybody know how to get the code???

Nice care bud, i had a 89 f plate orion 1.6 ghia when i was 18 in 97, love the shape of them and love teh dashboard, mine was solid everywhere except the battery tray was rotten, also the front bumper looks correct to me but sits a little too low, the bumper can move up slightly (if i remember correctly 4 bolts) awesome car, wish i never sold my89 orion as it ended up in a scrap yard 2 years after i sold it..... I am very envious of you, what a cool car in amazing condition, now hit it with a stick and stick some 1600 e cross spokes onit and it will be full of win!

Thanks people I was out in it today and there was a car full of lads, actually pulled over, wound down the window to tell me how much they all love my car ;D I was like aaaaace thanks! Plans have changed a tad.... Once I've sold the XR2 I can start transforming the beast, though I am loving the 1.3 power and 4 speed - seriously, it's got some nip and is so smooth. My CD/MP3 player installed. Rev counter on pillar. RST Recaro interior. Lowering it 35-50mm. Escort GTi alloys in dark grey. Spot lights. Zetec engine with bike carbs. Plus steering wheel - I quite like the old mk3 XR3 one... For now, my awesome white leather Recaro is for my butt.

Don't fancy getting a ropey xr3i EFI and swapping everything over? Probably the easiest and cheapest way to get what you want.
rsturbo bodykit? arches and skirts
The only bit of RS T body kit I am after is the spot lights, wiring, relay and brackets cheers. I'm keeping the car standard looking apart from them, GTI alloys in dark grey and some lowering. And have 100% Decided on 1.8 Zetec with Megajolt and R1 carbs. I've been waiting in for BT ALL DAY who havent turned up for the second time and I couldn't think of anything better to do than play with the scort so I fixed both the door mirrors which had 4 mirrors one on top of the other on the driver side and 3 the same on the other, when they were broken they were just stuck over the top! I broke one in the cleaning and fixing process (whoops) so am missing one now, but it looks a whole lot tidyer there. Also hoovered and dusted the interior and dusted of the engine bay a bit. Here's a pic of the current engine in the bay. There is too much spare room there! I also attempted to get the radio out today - It is 100% original, I felt a bit bad but I didn't succeed anyway with my bent bits of old coathanger!
