I think stuff gets removed from threads because we're spamming a perfectly good readers ride thread with a debate about stickerbombing and such...........
Back to the car, I love K11's. I've said many times that I think they are the best car Nissan ever made (definitely the best they made in Europe) and I've never seen one with this kit.
Getting this car was a top score, all credit to you, it looks awesome, I'm particularly fond of the interior, I've never seen a black on black dash in that shade either, looks very tidy.

If there are no obvious punctures I would speculate that the loss of pressure for a couple of minutes before failure was due to the tyre beginning to loose air as the side wall broke up.
I would imagine it's a vicious circle from there, side wall cracks, pressure starts to drop and accelerates the destruction of the rest of the tyre.
Anyway I'm glad that you and your car are OK.
Hopefully no damage done but check everything out to be sure, especially for rubbing on the brake pipe flexis.
Interesting comments on Michelin, after years of fitting Contis to my cars I've just started fitting Michelins because the guys at work rave about their performance, manufacturing techniques, process control, yadda, yadda...............maybe it's ot that clear cut.

I 2nd power park autos (central blast cleaning) fantastic service, the guys there know their business.. www.powerparkautos.co.uk/(did mention I used to work for them? ;D ) I grew up in Banbury and had a few bits blasted by Central Blast Cleaning. They were always dead helpful and on one occasion were kind enough to mask a load of stuff up for me because I was too young and silly to realise that having every surface on every part blasted isn't such a good idea.

Yet again another awesome build I've 'found' via the 2011 awards nominations.
What I particularly like about this car is the fact that reading through the thread there were so many times I thought, 'oh I wouldn't have done it like that' only for your result to be awesome and much better than anything I would have come up with.
The intense attention to detail, thinking outside the box and fantastic family history make this a really special car for me and inspiration for my sorry looking '89 Mini City project.
Thanks,
Rob

Hi,
I just got directed here from the awards nominations.
Your car is awesome and a great story, but it's very sad to hear of its current state.
I'm no expert, especially on K series but it seems strange to me that it kills engines so readily, when they run fine in so many caterhams. I'd be inclined to think there's something in your set up that's not helping. I'm wondering if it relates to the super high gearing but that's just random speculation.
Anyway, give us an update on your plans, if it was mine I'd run it as a 1.6 for a while, to try and find a reliable (if under powered) setup and just to enjoy the driving around and the stunning visual appeal of a unique car.
Best of luck!
Rob

I hope they get it on the road but don't touch the paint.
The patina is unique.
Thanks for the update.

But in your shoes I'd buy the Jag.

Matt black up to the waist and Panini on the roof and pillars, maybe?
I'm loving the idea but struggling to find a way it might look cool, I like the idea about using the sticker colours to make a picture, those things always impress me.

That is just beautiful!
Very simple and really well crafted, I love the bare metal finish done with such care.
Marvellous!

Meh, no worries dude, no need for you to feel bad, it's not like I got it home and it suddenly went all blues brothers on me and collapsed in a heap!
I did have a little chat with Rob0r but he's a bit busy at the mo so I thought I'd throw a wanted ad out to see if anyone has a tank. The seam on the edge of the RH tank is a bit crusty too but I don't think that's where it's leaking.
When I've cleared the 535 from my drive I'll get this home, drop the tanks and assess the damage.
At the end of the day, fuel leak or not, it's still an e21 and it's still awesome.

Picked up an E21 320/6 from here the other week, love it BTW.
Anyway, thought I'd take it for an MOT and see what it needed, but got as far as putting petrol in and it wee'd it all over the floor, no MOT for me!
The car is not at mine at the mo so it might make me a couple of weeks to 100% diagnose that the RH (drivers side) tank is leaking but from a 10 second look underneath TBH it's not very pretty anyway, the rate it was flowing out suggests its something fairly major.
If anyone has one let me know or give me a call on 07734 704125.
Thanks,
Rob

A work colleague went to look at one earlier tonight, he said he couldn't find one for less than £1000, I told him he wasn't trying hard enough, then this pops up o prove me right!
I'm e-mailing details to him now, I'd buy this in an instant if I didn't already have one.

There was a Pontiac version as well, the J2000. Which is arguable uglier This with an Isuzu Derv, ratty runaround genius. I say make it happen.

Plenty of 6 cylinder Rados about. How likely will you be to find another Cavalier (I think?) if you flog it on now. It all depends on how much you love the other car. You know what's wrong with it and (presumably) how to repair it. Change for the sake of change isn't always the best option... What he said ^^ Although I'm slightly biased, the Corrado isn't really retro yet anyway, get one in 5 years

I've got one of these and it's pretty cool. I redesigned the windscreen and pillars on mine though as the original design looks a bit awkard. Ha ha,that's awesome, I mean just because it's a lego VW shouldn't stop you from modding it!
