As above, Citroen Dispatch, 3 seats upfront, and cheap to buy the last time I looked. It's worth the marginally larger van to get all 3 seats in the front. They also drive much like a car.

My Midi is a RWD. You might find the 4x4 has slightly taller suspension.
The tyre size when I bought my van was 195/70r14 (24.7"). I've gone to 205/80r16 (28.9").
The tyres catch on the front, when going over bumps.

How confident are you that the vin checker you used came back with the correct reg? I can run it through a Haynes system if you like?

To me, without the public's cars, it's not a show. But if you do go, let us know what it's like?

I've been speaking to the event organisers, and they say 'Retro Show Lite' is on, but there are NO CLUB STANDS.
You can book 'pitside parking' though, which sounds like a loophole for parking show cars on the hardstanding, but I'm not getting involved in that!
So, no stand for us this year, fingers crossed for 2022...

My Iveco Daily has wheel nuts done to 350nm, and rear hub nuts to 565nm!
I'm presently trying to up my gear a bit to deal with it!

I bought a mains power impact wrench, Clarke 1000w, which is 450nm.
It has certainly undone nuts that I wouldn't have managed to by hand (such as pulley nuts/bolts), but there have been a few that it's struggled with.
I'm starting to move to battery tools, rather than mains and a generator, and have settled on DeWalt. My next buy is hopefully one of their 950nm 18v torque wrenches.

Not updated this for a while. Probably gained several more machines! Lol I now have a Westwood Gazelle with a sweeper, but it runs off the mowers wheels using a roller, rather than a belt driven pto. Also, at the start of 2020 I bought a 1967 Thwaites Tusker, and managed to get it road registered. I'm going to try posting photos stored on Imgur, but it seems such a messy site, I'm not sure it'll work... ...and I've now just bought a very old dumper!

Buying a car with no V5edessex

I've just bought a car off a mate where he lost the logbook, and have bought other cars previously without them.
As people have said, £25 is the fee. You can apply for tax or SORN at the same time. I'm assuming us your mate never had a logbook, that he's never had the car on the road (as he can't have taxed it)?
As for ownership, that can be a whole can of worms. There is always a chance it's a stolen or scrapped vehicle, but you should be able to check that with the reg number. If you're getting a bargain it might be worth the risk anyway.
One very important thing though... If you buy it, sort the V5C AND the tax (or SORN) out right away. Otherwise you can get landed with the fines for an untaxed period.

Not a problem. It's not a very specific location, but at least you know roughly where to look! Lol
Looks like it'll only have one wire to it.

I've just bumped the post of the work back to the top of my Facebook page www.facebook.com/2wdOffRoaderOriginality and looks aren't what I was aiming for, mine takes a beating off-road, so wanted strong work done. My mate doing the welding said he'd normally get sheet metal, and bend to the right shape.

Sorry I've not been on here for a bit! A fellow TD! Definitely not many of those about! The sills are prone to rot, I had work done on mine, but they weren't actually that bad. We ended up cutting out good metal, but the aim was to get it a bit more future proof. However, mine was done a bit unconventionally. We cut the bottom of the sill off, and welded in box section. On the OS the lower edge of the sill now sits 3" higher than originally! The N/S is closer to original, but that's due to the sliding door. In time I might try to relocate the door runner, and raise everything up to match, but the main thing for me was killing the rot.

MoT testers can't leave a test open, BUT in this case he's probably aborted it.
The original point is still the same though. It would appear that once an MoT extended vehicle is logged in, the extension is removed. Regardless of pass, fail or abort.

I did sell my LDV on eBay, but the buyer cancelled coming twice. It's got a few faults, but is a good project. Runs, drives and has MoT until next year. Loads of info and photos on the expired eBay ad: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303648560677Located in Bishops Stortford £700 ovno

I'm still watching! Looking really good! Unfortunately I worked through lockdown, not had a chance to do a thing to mine.

I'm a bit miffed that Santa Pod didn't contact me to see if we wanted a stand, as we had booked on the cancelled one. Although with constant uncertainty and changing rules, I'd still say it was best waiting until next year to have a stand!
Did anyone go this weekend, what was it like? I can see social distancing being difficult.
