Update:
Lower half in black vinyl applied by myself. DIY FTW.
One of my best rolling shots to date.
Whooopsie I may have bought ANOTHER set of wheels lols
Probably one of the only very few sets of 5x100 TOM'S Vesta's. Google only comes up with 5 pics of the 4x100 versions.
I love them! Gotta buy some superforma adapters soon, just gotta guage how thick I need them to go over my standard studs.
Oh and I'm getting the Decals done in a different colour, Black and white I think.
Hmm well the TOM's wheels are on hold for now as a nice package turned up today!
Even came with wrapping paper and happy birthday written on it! No customs charges! Woot! Haha
Got them out and had a FAP!
GO DAMN I LOVE THEM! They look super old skool JDM sickness up against the car.
Just ordered Four 165/50/15's to go on them.
Ordering some 25mm adpaters soon. They will be ET-7 once those are fitted looool Awesome!
Excited!
More JDM Goodness turned up. Along with a import charge. ******s.
Genuine JDM Train Handle and a Daisy Creative C-Life JDM Electric Blind.
Little video of the blind.
Update:
Well shortly after I attended the Type2Detectives/StanceWorks coffee morning meet in Cambridge my gearbox decided to lock the diff completely and I was in a bit of a pickle.
After sourcing a 2nd hand box from the Prelude Power forum I had it sent off and new bearings fitted and the insides checked over. The new 60K miles box was better than my 54K miles box so it came back and with the help of some mates we refitted it back in.
The state of the Diff :S There was metal fyling about everywhere in there! Chunks wedged into the casing and all sorts!
And the Output Shaft was chipped too.
So ordered up lots of stuff that needed doing like 2x upper and 2x lower ball joints, while it was easily accessible I bought a new clutch just to be on the safe side.
Also while the front crossmember was off I had a 6mm plate welded to the bottom of it, This part takes nearly all of the hits when I hit bumps in the road and Speedbumps Ect so should take a beating now as well as lots of sparks lol
Refitting the box.
So damn good to see her back on the floor, I'd forgotten how low it was
Soon to be lower once the smaller tyres have been fitted to the freshly polished SSR's
Just waiting for my rocker cover to be hydro dipped so I can start the car and test the transmission. Hope all is well as Japfest is under a week away now!
Tested tonight and we have lift off!
Also picked up my Dipped parts
LOVING IT!
AT THIS POINT THE ENGINE DIED DUE TO SHOT BLAST BEING LEFT IN THE ROCKER COVER
Right well here's some progress shots on how I've been getting on.
I've been stripping and disconnecting anything I can see to disconnect haha
Only Drive shafts and Engine mounts are holding it in now! Excited to take it out and start welding up holes.
Took out the ABS. PROPER old skool system this is!
BUT it made way for my new Air box.
ARC Intake!
Fit's lovely without the ABS now.
And one of how it's sitting at the moment.
Not looking pretty at all.
There is some progress!
I've taken the engine out now to find the oil filled with shot blast material gutted. At least I know what was the problem now! Onwards and upwards!
The engine builder has written a list of stuff that is happening/needed for the build.
Chemical cleaning both block and head, cylinder rebore and hone, repair damaged camshaft bearings, cylinder head skim, and block decked.
Donor block
Piston Rings
ACL Race Engine bearings
Head gasket Kit
Block gasket Kit
Water Pump
Timing Belt
Champion Oil filter
Dizzy cap and rotor arm
Spark plugs
Ignition wires
Extras are
Big bore throttle body
FSE fuel pressure boost valve
Adjustable Cam pulleys
Head work will be:
matching the inlet manifold, porting out the plenum intake to the larger throttle body polishing the inside of the inlet manifold, reworking the inlet and exhaust ports, reshaping the valve guide ramps and guide ends, polishing chambers and deshrouding around the valve seats.
He says:
With the headwork adjustable cams, exhaust manifold, exhaust system, bump in compression ratio from 9.4:1 to 10.5:1, adjustable fuel pressure regulator we should get a nice output of around 180-190bhp maybe more with excellent torque low down as well probably around 155-170lbft which would certainly make your car very lively!!
Excited!
Also found a shot I took and edited just before then engine farked out.
So my willwood prop valve turned up today
Really have NO idea how to plumb it all in after removing the ABS System.
If anyone knows or can draw me a diagram that'd be awesome
AAAAAND That's where I'm up to so far!
