Its got MOT till June but ive been driving it every day all of this week and it drives faultlessly and spot on, had a good look all over and underneath and I cannot see any reason why it would fail another MOT, it definately wont fail it on rust as there is no major rust anywhere only the odd little scabby bits that I have treated and now fixed so they don't need to be worried about.
It has 6 months TAX so it runs out in august.
Its a 1981 957CC mk1 in forest green with a gloss black roof.
It's been reshelled at some point into a facelift shell, which used to be red and is very very solid. The floor, boot floor, sills, inner wings, chassis rails etc etc are solid and it's never had any welding. It has a sunroof, but because the last owner did the sunroof drainage modification the sills will stay mint. The mileage is around 83,000, but I don't know if it's the original engine(its very peppy and pulls well, suprised me quite a bit for 957cc actually(
The paintwork is generally very good, when I got the car the paintowork on the bonnet and roof was very matted, the roof has now been sprayed gloss black which I think looks very cool and suits the car perfectly. And I cut the paint on the bonnet back and relaqured it so that looks great as well now.
There are a few bits of minor surface rust under the headlights, and there's a ding(this could be knocked out easily, I will probably have a look at it before somebody views)
It drives very nice and handles very well, it has xr2 springs and shocks on the front and it had xr2 springs on the back when I got it but I had some golf mk1 lowering springs in the shed so I fit these instead as they are much stiffer(front and back have a couple of coils cut off to give it the stance but it is NOT dangerous nor is it bouncy, it handles and drives very well) it comes with an xr2 panhard rod and xr2 pepperpot alloys. The wheels are in very good condition, and the tyres are all good, comes with a spare pepperpot. When I got it driver side tyre was rubbing on the arch a lot but I have now rectified this by having the driver side arch rolled so there is now no arch contact what so ever even on very back bumps/potholes
The interior is in good condition. The seats are almost perfect apart from one tiny fag burn which is a shame, but not too noticeable. The parcel shelf is untouched, as are the doorcards and centre console with oldskool MW/LW radio. The dash is good (and brown). It has all of the original reg marked windows, and the rear heated screen works perfectly.
The engine runs ok, as good as a 957cc does anyway. It starts and runs nicely. All the gears are good.
When I bought it the heater didnt work and neither did the temperature gauge but the temp gauge is now working, and the heater works perfectly, blows very warm air and heats the car up very quickly.
The car also comes with a boot tidy tray thing, and a boot board carpet from an XR. The boot seal has also been replaced.
I have included everything I can think of but if you have any other questions just pm, email or call me on 07950119880. The car is located in March in cambridgeshire PE15 postcode.
Will also include a spare dash, few spare clocks and a supersport/ghia style 4 spoke steering wheel and any other mk1 spares that I can find you can have them
I am looking for £550 ONO for the car.
