Thats the video! Thats for posting it. Must have been astonishing to drive when it was new.
Yes, only run in at this mileage. These do well over 500k without issue. Just keep them serviced and maintained regular, keep the rust at bay and these will probably outlive their owners like a lot of the old W123, W124 models.

Mercedes-Benz S210 E300 Turbo Diesel Estate
1998 'S' Registration
Brilliant Silver with Full Black Leather 5 Speed Automatic
MOT until May 2019
Rare Rust Free Example
Legendary OM606 EngineWell maintained example of the E300 Turbo Diesel - has had new springs, discs, pads and tyres this year. Previous owner had this for almost 10 years, and only sold it due to a newer E350 model.
I love these cars and I have had many over the years. When needing something for a house move and general moving duties, I purchased this as I've got a soft spot for these with the OM606. The fact it had no rust attracted me to it even more.
Being such a clean, sound example, my plan was to keep hold of this long term and for it to appreciate in value. I firmly believe these cars will be modern classics very soon, and values of decent ones are already on the rise. However, I am potentially starting a new job next week, so need to thin down the car collection before I start. Space is limited, so some of my more recent purchases now need to go.
For those who don't know these cars - it was one of the first mainstream high performance production diesels. At the time, nothing came close. Audi and BMW had diesel engines pushing out circa 140 bhp, but when this came out it blew them all away with it's 177 bhp and 330nm torque. Clarkson drove one back in 1997, and he was duly impressed with the speed and power for a diesel (there is a video is on YouTube).
This is a strong, indestructible unit. They are known within the tuner scene to take huge power by fitting mechanical fuel pumps and large truck turbos. The blocks will handle north of 600 bhp without any issue. 199k miles and just running in!
Even to this day, you appreciate the grunt. Yes, it's not the quickest by modern standards, but there is something alluring and rather satisfying about ringing the engine up and pulling away. It has a proper old school 'clanger', which reminds me of the old InterCity 125 locomotives (I'm sad, I know!).
Clean MOT history - only ever failed one MOT due to headlamp aim - No advisories on the other MOTs since 2006! Try finding another car with an MOT history this clean. Even three year old cars have more advisories.
Runs well, no leaks or overheating. No warning lights on the dash. Gearbox changes as it should.
Good pull from the sought after OM606. Starts first time. Idles as it should. No hesitation or power loss.
Bodywork is the cleanest you will find for the year and money - I have had several of these, and most of them are rotten. Even though they are reliable, they look like heaps due to the rust! This one is an exception - previous owner has had all the rust treated and any affected areas resprayed. It looks clean and polishes up well. Front bumper had a slight knock a few years ago, and this was replaced. Due to this, the parking sensors are no longer working and there is a marker on the logbook. Does not affect the car in anyway, and on a 20 year old car, this isn't an issue.
Interior is also in decent order, with no rips or tears. Black leather has worn its age very well, and still feels like a decent quality material compared to the modern curse word these days.
Being an S210 estate, you all know how big the load capacity is. With the rear seats down, it will carry almost anything with ease.
Has a Tow Bar with Full Electrics.
Comes with 3 Keys, User Manuals, V5 Logbook (registered in my name), Various Old Bills & Receipts.
No time wasters, no dreamers, no silly offers. I know my cars and I certainly know what these are worth in this condition. If I put it on eBay, it will sell for over £2k (judging by recent auctions), but I can't be bothered with the hassle given the bad experiences I've had as of late.

Mercedes-Benz S210 E Class E240 2.6 V6 Estate
7 Seat Avantgarde Model
2000 'X' Registration
Silver with Anthracite Cloth Interior
MOT until 29th October 2018
199k Miles For sale is my Mercedes E240 2.6 V6 Avantgarde Estate (S210 model). Owned this a few weeks, and was purchased for moving / tip duties. No longer needed and is surplus to requirements. I purchased this locally and it actually ended up belonging to the father of my Mercedes specialist (small world!). Once I knew it was his, I knew the car would be decent mechanically - and it is! M112.911 Engine Code / 2.6 Litre / V6 / 18 Valve / 170 BHP / 35+ MPGStarts first turn of the key. No leaks. No overheating - will sit for ages in traffic and the temperature needle does not move from it's designated spot. Idles in the correct manner. Pulls well in every gear. Gearbox changes as it should, and also works fine in manual / tiptronic mode. Engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes, etc are all spot on. There are no knocks or bangs when going over potholes, which often blights these cars. I've had loads of these over the years, also I know them quite well and know what to look out for. MOT until end of the month. The advisories for rear tyres, brake pads and bearing have been sorted. Might need some light welding to get through this MOT, based on the advisories last year (but then again, it may be fine as only done 3k miles since). Tyres are excellent - the front two are matching Nexen N8000 and the rears are a matching pair of Nexen NFera SU1 (only a few months old) - the tyre size being 235 / 45 / all round. Specification includes: Brilliant Silver, Anthracite Cloth Interior, 7 Seat Model, 17" Alloy Wheels (Rare), Electric Windows x 4, Air Cooled Storage Compartment, Electric Folding Door Mirrors, Headlamp Wash Wipe, Power Steering, Walnut Burr Trim, Auto Dim Rear View Mirror, Multi Function Steering Wheel, Cruise Control, Remote Central Locking, Alarm & Immobiliser, Mercedes Spare Wheel, etc. It has had a HID light upgrade, which improves night vision no end. Also had a set of rear parking sensors retro fitted, as the previous owner was getting old and needed them - these work fine. Everything works as it should and there are currently no warning lights on the dash (apart from a bulb, which is related to the HID upgrade). The bodywork lets this down, however. I've seen a lot worse and ones where you can put your fingers through the wings and arches - this isn't that bad, but it does have some corrosion to the wings, arches, lower doors, etc (the usual 210 weak spots). The lacquer has peeled on both rear quarters and also on a few other spots on the car. A few scuffs here and there, but look, its 18 years old and a cheap work horse. If you want a perfect one, then go and spend over £5k on it! Interior is in decent order, with no rips or tears. This will do the job of a workhorse very well. It will even serve as a reliable daily hack, if you aren't bothered about the bodywork. It's smooth, quiet, spacious, comfortable and totally dependable. It has the rare 17" wheel upgrade, which have the wider 235-section tyres. These wheels refurbished can often sell for over £450 a set on eBay (my cousin picked up a set last year for just over £400). Located in Shinfield, Berkshire, RG2 post code. Please call me on 07984 395400 for any further information.

I should have stated I meant I don't currently have the time to travel up to collect. I've no doubt it will get me back and I also picked up an old W123 Mercedes from Edinburgh last year, which was an interesting drive back! Usually I travel all over the UK for cars - as these sort of motors don't come up for sale locally that often! pSyCoSiS Listen. If you buy it, I could maybe go up to Edinburgh next week and bring it down to mine if it helped. That would half the distance. I'd keep it on my drive until you could get up to mine on Teesside. Hope that helps. Appreciate that Chris, you're a gentleman. In case I can get things sorted at my end, I'll let you know. But currently too much tied up in other cars and the wife would go mad if I did a mission up north and drove back in yet another car! Thank you for the offer - really appreciate it and it shows the kind nature of the good people on this RR forum.

Train, coach, hitch up,,,,,, drive back... 👍 This basically. I've collected a few cars from down in England and generally enjoy the experience. This will get you home no problem. Lovely cars the E55s - I've had two of them, ad the last one was bought by Geordie (Chris) of this forum.
This one looks like a clean one, although it's a shame there isn't a service booklet with it, as it's important to see these have been looked after.
GLWS. These are now going up in price.

Sold with 12 Months MOT to the first couple who viewed the car. They had a history of owning Volvo 740 and 940 estate models.
Glad to know it is going to a good home and will provide many more years of reliable service.
