I'm not too hot on buggy designs, but it looks pretty close to the shape of one I used to own, an Albar.. Proportions on it looked horrendous, they appear to be much improved by having the roof up

Logic would dictate that if it's likely to happen to more than a few people, then there will need to be some sort of contingency plan. I'm sure Keefy or Hotwire will put minds to rest shortly. All else fails, I'll print out my paypal receipt/confirmation email and hope it's adequate EDIT: spoke too soon. Thanks HTW

cover it with filler and paint I might just try that.. If it looks pants - il stick a mercedes badge over it! I'd just leave it then.. It'll stand out like a sore thumb. Far worse than the dent itself as you'll struggle to blend the silver.

Yeah got a PM about some, as said I would prefer spacers for the piece of mind aspect regarding safety and not to ruin my wheels with loads of extra holes. Presumably dependent on the wheel, but I believe Alan (Grunty) now offers TIG and redrill services..

This isn't helping the overwhelming urge I have to go to Mr NatWest and request a loan for a 'new car'. Fantastic pics to tickle my vintage fancy

Down&Out, I have to agree with MM.. My tastes, though not currently represented by the cars on my drive, much like yours, are nearer to 'classic' than what most on this site perceive as 'retro'(but let's not get into that debate, eh? ;D), but there's nothing better than expanding my Want List by finding something I never knew existed because it's of a marque and era I'm not very familiar with.
The other thing to note is that I can get a train from Taunton, Somerset into central London as quickly as I can get from one end of the county to the other. I've driven with Bruce from South Somerset to Wigan to swap some body panels with a banger racer, driven to London to buy a pair of bumpers, got a couple trains to Tonbridge in Kent to buy a Citroen Dyane, driven after a normal working day from Yeovil to Guildford to buy some wheels that were worth nothing... Most sellers are more than happy to pick you up from a local station if it's pre arranged. It's all part of the fun of it.

Ugh, nightmare I was under the impression that only a court can remove your right to drive, although not having a valid licence is an offence (max £1000 fine) it isn't the same as driving whilst disqualified. You had probably better check with someone qualified however, I could be wrong. That was the impression I was under too.. Kind of like tax discs, not having one is a separate offence to not displaying one. I guess all you can do is speak to DVLA on Monday morning though

I've discussed with Becky (every time we drive past one..) how much I'd like to play with one of these. There'd be more shiny involved, but that is most certainly some inspiration to refer back to ;D

Since you haven't given much info.. Chairchild offering an alternative option is surely just being helpful? As are the people who have suggested ebay. You never said anything about where you had been searching.... Since they appear to be pretty expensive, what about alternatives to replicate spot welds? I've just seen this on eBay. It may be rubbish but it's almost worth a punt at that price. Without knowing exactly what it'd be used for, I'd probably go with plug welding with a mig.

Well i've taken the plunge, got a demi of WOW on the go, 20 mins later and its bubbling away merrily. Also had a tester using same recipe but with apple and elderflower instead of the orange, only time will tell on that one. If these go alright theres an order in for some ginger beer so "ben711200"'s recipe will get tried out next. If you do, use more ginger than I said, brown sugar is nicer than white and give it time to properly carbonate in the bottles as it gives the illusion of more fire!

Mk3 golf/B3-4 Passat, 75bhp, 1.9TD: Good points: Very basic engine, easy to tune, very cheep to buy, runs on veg oil if needs be, jolly pain in the backside all wiring to get it working in the car, might come with a longer geared box that'll fit. Bad points: Very basic engine, so not as good on fuel as an ECU controlled engine, would probably need a bigger turbo to get 110bhp, which adds to the cost. Questions: Is it really going to be worse on fuel than a TDi? Am I right in thinking the turbo would need changing for 110bhp? Is the wiring really as simple as 1 wire for the stop solenoid? I get about 50mpg, and yes, it is definitely 1 wire Cool swap

Starting a large-scale brew again in a week or so. 25L tub, 6kg of sugar (added over the course of a couple of weeks) nutrientsand yeast. Favouring to be added after fermenting has finished - I find the strawberry and raspberry concentrated flavours (those tiny little bottles that cost about 30p) work really quite well! And ends up DAMNED potent! Ended up selling a couple of gallons to my old manager a few years back. Everyone was rather tipsy a few hours in from what his wife told me ;D kilju My attempt at that failed because I put all the sugar in at once.. It took ages and the yeast all died far too quick so it was ridiculously sweet.

I have no idea how it works as a cost comparison, but as an 'available from every DIY store and Halfords outside of working hours' option, Kurust does work very well. And it's a lovely colour ;D
