I'm looking at using this stuff called spray max 2k epoxy It's got good reviews, comes in ariesol so convenient, and with epoxy you can apply filler over it and can paint over it with anything, and very good rust prevention, I used cheep Red oxide to cover the bare metal on mine and the rust has come back,

Ok so I have a vintage pioneer ke-1300 car stereo which has only 2 channels left and right, and is very low power by today's standards, I've got some new speakers which are a lot more powerful then the old ford ones so I would like to fit an amp, the speakers are 30watt rms each so what amp will I need and how do I wire the amp then go from a two channel stereo to a 4 channel amp or do I need a 2 channel amp and wire two speakers to each channel? Damn I'm so confused lol

I spoke to the DVLA the other day about this and they said you don't have to return the log book she said as long as you notify them the car has been scrapped its perfectly legal, I also asked if it was legal to put a scraped car back on the road she said yes, so wide open for abuse

If the car is recorded as scrapped with the DVLA then selling the log book is perfectly legal,

If I would of left the door it would need replacing soon so This seams like the best thing to do, and as long as I dry it off properly and paint it straight away I think it will be ok, There are a few small holes in the outer skin but I'm sure the welder who's having the car in a few weeks will be able to sort it,

The bottoms of my rear doors had quite a lot of surface rust on then but as there lots of nooks and crannies using a wire brush would of been a nightmare, so with a bit of research I thought if I get a plastic tub big enough to submerge the bottom few inches of the doors and use phosphoric acid I could remove the rust much easier, so I got a plastic tub from a cheep shop and the acid from eBay Which was 85% acid and £18 for 5 litres, I diluted it with 5 litres of water and wow in two hours 90% of the rust is gone and back to good metal I'm absolutely amazed when it's finished I'll put some photos up,

I wasn't so bothered about it being a right off I don't plan on selling it, it's insured 3rd party only until it's repaired and had an mot which is due in July so no big deal there, I wanted to get the extra money so I could get all the repairs done get a new carb and a few other things so it's 100% Or close anyway I use the car everyday so needs to be reliable, check should be with me next week, the insurance company has been amazing all sorted in a week you couldn't ask for more

Well the insurance company offered me £2500 and the retention was £500 and excess was £200 so that leaves £1800 for repairs, the Granada guild recommended someone who is a guild member who could do the repairs and the other body work, so she will be getting 2 front wings used but very good, front valance used front doors Wheel arches both repaired sill repair chassis repair good used head lights and indicator £1000 yep a curse word grand All I need to do is find some bumpers and end caps as he didn't have any, I'm absolutely over the moon work should start at the end of the month and I'll have some money left over to get a new carb and suspension bushes yippee lol just need to save up for a respray
