Evening all, looking to cover the top of my dashboard in leather, can anyone recommend a supplier, looking for black, with UV resistant... ideally will send if for samples first, as I need black for the top of the dash and red for some other interior trims...
Thanks in advance

Welcome to my Eunos Roadster R limited thread, I have been lurking around this site for months, actually probably years now come to think of it.... Currently have 3 MX5s...... Bit of background on me, I restored a Eunos Roadster RS-Limited, full nut and bolt resto, car is 95% finished now and has a whole host of rare parts bolted to it, I plan to put a update thread in the Readers Rides completed section on that car... Couple of pics below MX5 Number 1 - Eunos Roadster RS Limited (4 year mega Project)MX5 Number 2 - Red RacerRed MK1 1600 bought as a road car and coverted to race car in 2018 MX5 Number 3 - R Limited ProjectSo onto this car, Picked it up on Saturday, it is an import Eunos, R Limited on a M Plate. The key things for a R Limited, is the 15 inch BBS wheels, Red leather interior, torsen diff and suppose to be on slightly lower yellow Bilstein suspension. The car failed a pre inspection MOT in January this year mainly on rust. so need a bit of welding to sills what Mx5 doesnt.... but what drew me to this car was one owner from 2005, so a lot of history, but the car needs some serious TLC... Seats ripped, roof gaffer taped etc. Ive always wanted an R limited and with prices increasing rapidly and this model being highly desirable, a project really is the only way i could afford one The deal was done and i returned home with it on the trailer... I'll let the pics do the talking Look pretty good from here Interior not to bad, importantly has the original nard parts- they need a bit of resto but at least they are still with the car Roof is first priority, get it swapped out for a glass screen mohair, if i can find one second hand, but car was still dry inside, so hats off to the previous owner in the taping skills Probably the hardest part to find if you were to buy this car without the wheels, 15 inch BBS with 3 center caps, the look great on the MX5, good offset and came on a few import limited edition models. The onto the welding required - Passenger side Driver Side - after i had a good pick at it Summary is to get it welded up - go right through the car tidying and restoring..... and putting back to original

Weekend update time... First of all got myself a flare... Extra JDM points... Came standard on JDM car I believe... Fuel rail restored... To start as it came off the car Half way through cleaning it up with wire wheel on drill Etch primed... Coil pack before... Both rail and coil pack bracket is a green coating, found a similar coloured paint... Both all painted with a couple of coats... Strengthen a small pallet with some ply and added some castors from machine mart so I can get the engine off the stand... You can see it in the pic below, although you can't see the wheels.. Engine on the front subframe, thought it would be more stable like this... Cam cover that has been soda blasted with brackets, oil cap and valve reinstalled And engine pic.... Just waiting for a delivery of parts to finish off the engine, the three front covers etc Next step is to get the gearbox and clutch fitted...

Some more progress this week.... CAS removed and cleaned up, and new o ring installed, old one was very brittle... Coil pack removed, and shiny bolts put back in place... Next step is to refresh the coil pack brackets, and get fasteners plated... Already got a bag ready to take of bolts that need doing... Front lifting hook installed Front coolant pipe installed, replaced the 2 front cam seals, all new coated bolts... Next need to order the cam cover plastics... Some gaskets that I missed need ordering to Bolts changed on the back of the PAS pump This is how it was left...

Just stunning. Love it. I've just bought a 97 model and itching to do something to it. You've inspired me. I'm quite local to you and would love to see this when on the road. Special:-) Thanks anils, will be a year or so yet I would imagine, got a MK2 also that I need to keep on top of... Where abouts are you? Tom

Absolutely incredible work. I'd almost have been surprised that someone was putting such effort into an MX-5, but then those RS-Ltds are just about as special as Roadsters get and more special still when they still have the Recaros and BBS wheels and haven't been fannied about with. Only problem is, it'll almost be too nice to drive once it's done! Thanks, I was lucky enough to to find a RS with wheels and seats intact.... I k is what you mean... Will be a weekend car :-)

Been a while for an update, So first up the alternator having some attention, all stripped down... And painted Sprayed the engine mounts and power steering brackets Bought a spit to start the body work... Second batch of bolts plated, including the alignment bolts that I left behind for the first batch... Prepped ready on the wire wheel Brackets and bolts back.... Plus had the heat shields done in silver.. Not bad for a 25 year old pair of shields Engine with more components bolted to it.. Really happy with the results, hope to get the head on this weekend Thanks for looking....

Who do you use for blasting & plating in Cardiff?? Dub Monkey.... I'm located in the West Midlands. For Soda Blasting I Used Soda Blast Limited in Wolverhampton. Plating was done by Electroplating Ltd in Wolverhampton. The E-Coat was carried out by Euro coatings in Cardiff, out in the Docks. Let me know if you need any other info....
