Ate the vv cards not considered junk and not worth the hassle? I can remember that everyone used to bin them as they were always constant trouble. You can get a fit and forget weber conversion for £200.

I've done similar but I got 500 m5 flat washers for £6 and used them. I cobbled together something to hold it on the side of a bicycle hub and used thst to drive it round and round.

BTCC Nissans, about 93/4 in DC Huges breakers yard in Bicester there were 2 brand new BTCC shells caged, with some rear suspension components, (CNC crossmembers) but not a lot else I know a friend of mine was at one time preparing an ex factory Honda integra, (Matt Neales?) 2or 3 season before was championship winner, I think the drivers name was Green? and used to run a car affectionately known as Kermit? Hyundai Time Attack racing series seems to have a couple of ex cars, and another placeto try would be TenTenths web sites good source of info. I actually remember seeing those cars then on top of a pile but couldn't make out what it was . I think they were a bit battered if I remember but I would have only been 14 or 15.

Had a set just like those on a Nova, back in the early 00s Thought they were OE but obviously NOT! Steve Nova ones were similar but not the same as these. just found these VAUXHALL CAVALIER 15" Expression BBS style Alloy Wheels No, again, not the same... Thanks for everyone's help so far, but I think I'm going to have to book half of you in for eye tests. I was looking for positive identification not "they look like BBS x, y or Z". They're quite distinct compared to BBS and the closest I can find is Compomotive CXs, but even these are slightly different! THE HUNT CONTINUES! Positively charming !

Possibilities-
Metro gta- nope Vauxhall nova some sort of non sporty model- nope Orion 1600e - nope , would have to be 14"
They have that mid 80s to early 90s rubbish oem look were having any sort of alloys was a selling point.
I thought they might be mini after market but I can't find anything. Or rubbish bbs style wheels like you found on golf gti 2s or e30s but they would be 14" as well.

Very interesting stuff. How would you potentially go about selling what you make eventually ? Are there other refiners that would buy it at a decent price to turn into something with an official purity/stamp/assay etc ? I can see your doing it because you can not necessarily fir straight up cash but I'm just curious how it can be got into the system to sell ? I've seen people trying to sell similar lumps they have made on ebay and just wondered if that's because they cannot sell it anywhere else ? No it's extremely easy to sell really. That's the beauty of holding gold over simply holding the scrap meterial or some other kind of less soluble investment. I simply take it to a buyer in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham and they will use thier xray spectroscopy gun to check purity there and then and hand over the appropriate cash. Theres plenty of 'we buy gold' places out there but be careful to find a 'top of the tree' buyer rather than just a dealer who wants to make a markup. If you don't know gold has a 'spot price' dependent on the financial metal markets (beware virtual gold is just that!) Usually I would expect a buyer to pay around 98% of the spot price or better. The one I use will even buy the alloyed meterial at 98% of its gold value meaning refining karat jewellery etc has little room to make any profit. You really only gain the value of the alloyed metals like silver. I do enjoy the investment side of it. The market is volatile so half of it is when you buy and when you sell. So far I've called it right buying a lot when it was at £30pg and selling about 25% of what I had at the peak of covid when it hit £50pg. A good profit but ultimately all gone back into equipment etc I guess. Silver is a little trickyer to get rid of in some ways. The metal merchants are paying more like 80% of spot yet scrap still sells for 110% or so on ebay etc. I turn all my silver into bars and sell those privately. The key thing with silver is it is liable for VAT where gold is not. As I'm not VAT registered however I can just about buy scrap, refine it and sell bars at the going rate and still make a profit. Basically i start 20% ahead of most people doing it from the off and can slightly undercut them while still having a margin. You can get them assayed and hallmarked if you want. Its about 10quid a time but most people don't bother. I guess they have to trust me. I didn't realise it was as easy as that , even with an xray. I've actually got one , a nitron analyser . I recently used it when selling some stamped bullion just for thst extra bit of confidence for the seller. I had some old 1 ounce silver bars I bought 15 years ago and got 4 times what i paid for them

Can anyone ID this thing? Looks a bit like a Peugeot P4 but with a Type 181-style sloping bonnet. On a Q plate IIRC. Has a few G Wagon details too. Puch g bundesheer ? German or Austrian military jeep thing based on a G wagon I think.

To me that look bad but that's what most of them are like.
Looks like it needs a complete floor by the time you mess around with repairs it's not worth it .
Inner and outer sills each side , plus a posts. Complete boot floor with battery box , rear side panel repair . Wheel Wells most likely as well as front wheel Wells. Then a lot of smaller panels probably under where the subframe is. The trouble with minis is that most are a mot away from needing a huge amount of work that no one wants to pay for.
You can do the minimum to get it moted but you will be welding it every year somewhere else. I would say you had a high quote because to do it properly they would be replacing 60% of the cars metal .

I was under the impression you could only put up a structure after showing a need for it , so having a tractor would mean you would need evidence of using it for its intended purpose.

also, most importantly - get ready to really hate welding when you meet your nemesis! stainless steel vband adapters. Finally, after much practice on tube, i managed to weld on a vband adapter airtight (passed the wd40 test) and the damn thing warped. Got so excited about getting it airtight I forgot the heatsink. Taking it to the local welding place. It's best to fit the other half and out the clamp on when welding those , or even better gave the other half tacked into the next but of pipe then clamp and weld. Not much use now but in future maybe.

Anyway thanks for your input on this i will save building anything from now on incase your that offended in the future No mate I'm firmly with you , I was ridiculing the chap complaining about your RS badge ! Your right this is why this forum exists , for all different cars with out nitpicking and snobbery !

You don't have to join in and be a paid up member so to speak , just post a message. Thats the only way i can see you finding it is by getting a message seen by the mini owning community in that area . Most of them are really helpful as they seem to be a car with great sentimental roots for a lot of us .
I think we all get meldrew as we get older so don't worry , I'm much the same .

Worth contacting any local Norfolk mini clubs to see if anyone remembers it and also posting on the mini forum. Facebook for local mini groups in Norfolk is probably your best best .
