As long as the springs are matched it should be fine for the MOT, problems may be that it rides too low and crashes through to the bump stops or the missing leaf could lead to an uneven stress distribution on the leaf above, a picture could help on this. Thanks, not had a chance to take photos yet, I'll see if I can nab some. Thanks for the info, it's my first time messing with leaf springs so I'm more cautious than I would be with my usual stuff.

I took our Iveco Daily camper for MOT today and it failed on leaf spring bushes and it had a missing leaf on one side.
It's pretty tricky finding the spec and related parts for the Van as it's an 84 model.
My question is... can I remove the matching spring on the opposite side and that be legal? I'm aware that removing springs isn't the best thing to do on a commercial but it is a twin wheel and a tipper I think so the springs are beefed as it is.
I'm going to pull them out tomorrow to measure and have a look but any help or info on where might be good to buy them would be very helpful. I'm based in Norwich if that is of any help.
Thanks.

I've been down quite a bit, I tried those disks and I'd need different callipers. I'll leave it as I can't be curse word to start messing about. Do you want me to leave them with Nick?

Bodywork is not my best but it has to be done, I cleaned up some rust issues on the decklid before paint, and drilled out some venting to hide behind the number plate.

And thus the RR Trust was born! Money for hard work, now that's a good idea.

The exhaust is now pushed back a bit to allow for a hidden system, the bends are tight, however the angle makes them look tighter than they are. I could have made this a bit cleaner but it's just a mild steel setup so I'm not fussed.

Yeah I think for 100 quid I'll whip my pipe bender out and have a go myself.

Great, that's the answer I wanted. It's good to get some simple info some times. Thanks, If I get this done I'll post my results.

Kadron are still about, I've had one and they are not great, this is a bit different from how they normally sit.
phillipm, Not allot, I will cut all that and re-work it a bit.

Standard turbo tips won't work as it's going to be hidden. the exhaust would be nice exiting out the middle but it's a bit too tight. And I'd like it to come out one side for the look I want and ground clearance. I may be fussy and over complicating things but I'd like to make the thing myself as a learning exercise. Here is what I have.

I'd am at the point on my beetle (2.1 Stroker) where it needs an exhaust, I have raised the engine and it has a merged header so the exhaust would theoretically go straight through the rear valance in the middle. This is getting modified so it will curl around before the valance, sweep around the inside of the wing and exit just in behind the rear wheel.
Now here lies my dilemma, It's curse word loud. My MOT guys are sound (pardon the pun) but I just cant ask them to ignore noise that loud and possible fire.
A little bit of a pop is nice when dropping gears but I'd like to limit the noise a bit whilst not restricting flow too much. Has anybody got any experience with making baffled exhaust?
I have thought that maybe making a muffler with a deflector plate in the middle of it would be good and also some wadding. Or would a S bend inside any good?
Thanks in advance.

Cleared out my uncle's garage and amongst things I found this. Seems in good condition as it's never been used, apart from a crack on the drive gear but it's interchangeable so not much of a problem. I have seen them up for sale between £40 and £50 but seing as it cost me nothing and has the crack I'll take £20+PnP. Thanks.

Yeah the engine sounds the ticket, I'd like to get a nice video shoot of it but it's hard to find anyone and I'm really not in the position to start messing about with movie making at the moment. Thanks for the comment.
