Fair play - looks really nice in the orange Just to stick my oar in about the engine; all the Cologne's are heavy old lumps with modest power outputs. If it really is a 2.9 then it's not so bad, however if it's a 2.8 (as I suspect since it's got a carb fitted) then it's a grotty engine. Horrible head design mean a lack of low down grunt and it won't sound particularly nice either. Easiest way to tell the two apart is that the 2.8 heads have one normal and one siameased exhaust port (so the manifold only has two runners) whereas the 2.9 has proper 3 port heads. Looking forward to see how this progresses

Man, that looks super clean - what are your plans for it? Brings back memories, my mum used to have a green estate on a Y plate back in the day

Looking good - fair play for getting stuck in. Really like these little coupes, looking forward to seeing it finished. Are you planning any alterations or is it staying stock? Think it'd go well with a small turbo bolted on

Looking good - wheels suit the colour nicely, and it looks so much better now the paint's had some attention. Should look really plush when you've got that wing sorted

Removed from my Mum's old Y plate 1.3 Estate many moons ago. It was thought to be the source of a leak which later turned out to be a split hose. That said it's untested so sold as seen. Bit of surface rust but seems structurally sound around all the seams and inlet / outlets: Looking for a tenner collected from my place in North Oxfordshire. Thanks for looking

I've got 38 issues of Classic Ford Magazine up for grabs, published between February 2001 and March 2004. They're all in pretty good (if not mint) condition. Looking for about £20, but open to offers as I need them gone. Collection preferred from North Oxfordshire, but I might be persuaded to post if the price is right. Cheers, Mike

Cheers - mine's not as minty as it looks when you get close, but it's solid and honest Glad you're keeping yours stock - there are so few unmolested examples about now. Made any more progress? I commend your determination - it usually takes me months to sort out the smallest of jobs
