Had a look at Doblos on Autotrader. Cheapest near me was £3000 for an 05 plate with 7 seats and a 1.3 Diesel. Unfortunately budget is £2000! Had a look at an X-Plate Espace (2.0 Petrol) today. Not what we were looking for , but a definite possibility.

Thanks guys, will see if there are any Doblos about this way. Performance wise not too worried and anything should be a little more refined than the two we were running last year (see below). Is the 1.9 D a more modern version of what's in my Pilot?

She doesn't like the way the Kangoo looks Had her looking at a Fiat Multipla today but she doesn't understand why I think something so ugly is cool! The Partner she really wants has 5 sunroofs and some sort of roof mounted airvents!

My partner has taken a fancy to a Citroen Berlingo / Peugeot Partner as for some reason she doesn't think my LDV Pilot Mailbus is cool. Gonna have a look at a few tomorrow. Anyone got any experience of these? What problems should I be looking for? Hints/tips gratefully received. Apologies for the non-retroness of this request - have some retro-ish pics to make up for it: My old Sunny Coupe and L200 My old 740 GLE My old Casita folding caravan on the Volvo The Shoebox unfolded And before the cats appear my sister's Daihatsu Move when it was stickered

Just got a bottle and tried it on my grey bumpered LDV Pilot. Apparently the bumpers were really black after all - amazing!
Whoever suggested this was a genius ! Or crazy - who first looked at a bottle of linseed oil and thought "You know what, that'll bring that curse word looking plastic on my motor up a treat!" ;D

Gutted - was just in the middle of funds approval (from the missus) and working out an elaborate collection plan involving a detour for a coach load of school kids on a trip to Alton Towers!

Was trying to remember an 80's film where part of the story is a guy coming home from holiday or something and finding the housesitter has totally wrecked his SAAB and turned it into a Mad Max style Dune Buggy with a police car door on the back.....any ideas anyone?? The film was Moving and it starred Richard Pryor. That Saab looked well cool! It features in this clip at various points (2.59 for the Mad Max style). At the end of the film Richard goes crazy and has some sort of chase in it?

Passed my driving test in a 1987 1.6L which my dad had bought when my Uncle stopped using it as a company car (90k in the first 2 years!).
It was Orient Blue metallic with a pop up sunroof, Vauxhall driving lamps in the grille, and front fogs. I loved it!
Have a Vanguard model of a CDi in exactly the same colour!

Never heard of this before but stumbled across it on ebay. Anyone know anymore about it? cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250442795063&indexURL=6#ebayphotohostingHere we have for sale a really rare Capri indeed. One of two ever manufactured and being the only sole survivor as the other was burnt out about 10 years ago This one of 2 paris blue 2.8 Capri's that were converted from new for Currie Motors by Swaymar engineering. This car had a 3.2 engine conversion, the block was bored out, and a completely new crank, made from EN40B billet steel, was crossdrilled, nitrided and balanced. Forged pistons were designed by Swaymar and made by Cosworth, and fitted with racing-quality gudgeon pins, connecting rods are made from EN24 steel, with phosphor-bronze small end bushes and Vandervell big end bearings. The rods were shot-peened and balanced, and a high pressure oil pump. The Swaymar cylinder heads are radically different from standard. The Swaymar heads feature one outlet port per cylinder, the heads have been ported and polished with larger valves and has a fast road Kent cam (V6T6) Custom stainless steel, 6 branch exhaust system. The result of this is a power reading on the dyno of 192 bhp at the wheels this comes to 260 bhp at the fly wheel. Sierra Cosworth T5 gear box and LSD axle Four pot callipers on the front brakes. Rear disc conversion fitted at later stage 9 x 15 alloy wheels. Body work is in excellent condition having under gone restoration a couple of years ago using genuine Ford wings then being cut back to allow the fitting of the genuine Ford RS X pack wings and painted to a high quality. The interior is standard half leather with slight wear on drivers bolster. The only none original parts fitted to the car from new are rear disc conversion, Tickford center console, chrome extras under the bonnet and silicone hoses.

What about Renault 21 (especially turbo / quadra), or Renault 25 ? Can't remember the last time I saw either of those.

Stumbled across this while wasting time at work today. Did they do this with 4wd as the Quadra? I want it! "John Price built and rallied this Renault in the Group N Specifiaction Series in the late eighties, it is the only known Renault 21t rally car in this country. The car has group N suspension, ECU, brake bias (control under dash), turbo, AP Racing Brakes, Quaife Progressive Differential, Role Cage, Phase two alloy wheels and original timing gear. It has been used as the feature car on the cover of turtle wax adverts. The car is in good cosmetic condition and A1 Mechanical condition, I have owned this car for the last four years and used it for track days, it has proved to be 100% reliable and suprised alot of exotic cars with its performance! I will miss this car but I don`t get time to use it any more! It will be sold with a new M.O.T as it is road legal." £5495 at www.parvaprestigecars.co.uk

I don't like the transforming bit though, makes it too unbelievable...... urrr..... yeah..... I was gonna post a comment earlier on the fact that when KITT transforms the passengers would have to be folded etc which makes it unrealistic. Then I realised what I was saying! The attack mode does match my early 80's checklist for cars(from my childhood): Big rear tyres = really fast Side exhausts = really fast More than 1 exhaust = really fast Tinted windows = really fast Anything sticking out of bonnet = really fast Wide arches = really fast Shiny wheels = really fast Front end down, back end up = really fast Massive spolier = really fast So by my calculation that makes attack mode KITT really, really, eally, really, really, really, really, really, really fast!!!! ;D
