I'm a sucker for old merc. I miss my W123! Think I'm going to be needing one of those pullman limos though...
Some nice racers there, from when you had to be able to drive the car not a wheeled laptop. Thanks for sharing!

I MUST come. I don't get to go to any shows and this sounds like a preposterous amount of WIN! This means Ive only got about 8 months to get the metro fit for people to see! I just hope everyones going to be gentle with me as a newbie to all this!

The mileage is about 117500. Sounds high but it is a Toyota! I commute throught the peak districts country hill tracks and I'm getting just the good side of 30 mpg, but given less vertical roads would prob be better.

Mystery Machine - Youre right thats partly what made me buy it in the first place! Ive seen them with MR2 turbo swaps! But the starlet turbo swap is the easiest. Just a lack of a lockup to do it in and the necessary funds of course! Not forgetting my lust for Austin Rover tin!
Any who Sideways1, yes it does have PAS. Very easy to drive as it goes!
OOO before I forget, its had a new font pipe and cat on for the MOT last year.

As title really. Good honest little car with time proven Toyota reliability. Tax runs out end of january (in cheapest bracket), but the MOT runs till the autumn. Its got a 1.5 16v and runs really well. Never let me down even through all the snow, all tyres have healthy tread. Central locking, electric windows, CD player, sunroof. Anyway here it is... Only for sale due to purchase of metro shaped coolness! As youre all such lovely guys and gals Ill take a decent offer as I could do with it gone. Only real bad points are a small patch of rust at the rear of each sill about the size of chocolate bar, only mentioned as an advisory at the last MOT but make of it what you will. Thanks for your attention!

I spy a couple on there from Mini Delta. That place is awesome and makes some superb minis. They have a great website (if you can read Japanese) and sell all sorts of trick parts. They used to have this among their part numbers (translated): 1600cc High Power complete engine of wonder DELTA special tuning engine. 158 horsepower. Private mission case. Desired retail price 1,365,000 Special price 1,092,000 (including tax) Thats before we mention the main man Shuji Maruyama (hope thats right!) and his fabulous race mini called 'Midorigame'. Amazing machine with a massively developed a series engine with 16v head and trick everything, producing silly bhp. Apparently though the front end was designed in the 90s, before any of the heinous BMW involvement! Foresight or what!

Ive seen these in the metal before. Supposed to be a reasonable off-roader (no land rover but what is?) And that distinctive nose is quite fetching in a bizarre sort of way. If I remember didnt they have PSA oil burners?

hmmm... I see what you mean. I must stop thinking out loud... My purple mini sits on standard 10 steelies, thats prob where it came from. Just got to keep my eye out for some crazy wheels. If I considered some extreme alterations like re-drilling etc, that might open my options... *hears wallet crying* ;D

Nice idea but couldnt dream of affording them! Ive got some ssr wantanabe rs8 splits but they're not very deep and they're 15s. Oh and the wrong pcd. Bit too rollerskate I think. I wonder what it would look like with a mini 7.5inch brake swap and banded 10 inchers!?!? Major idea alert!

Ok, I just bought an f reg metro, some of austin rovers finest work. Its crying out for some messing with and ive got a few ideas. This is where I wish I had photoshop and some mad photoshop skills! This is not mine as Ive not taken delivery yet but looks the same... Taking inspiration from Slaters awesome beast, I'm thinking wheels need to be much much deeper, but this one: made me think... dare I say it JDM!? Lowered, poss jdm arches, small oil cooler etc... looks good in my head anyway! The apprentice at work wont shut up about sticker-bombing a win but that might be a bit far for me....

The benefit of a gravel drive though, a quick rake and its all gone! I know what you mean though you wouldnt believe how many customers are thinking of selling their cars so put off a service or something, next year same thing. And the next...

A customer of ours had one, it was auto but still went really well. Sounded good too when she had us fit a full stainless exhaust she had imported!

I suppose its just easy to recommend what you know if youve had a good experience with it, but youre right anything smallish with smaller engine is a win, also loads of cool small stuff about that will no doubt start to become more sought after when petrol starts getting dearer than filling your tank with bollinger... so heres my 2 cents.
Ive just bought an F reg metro 1.3 with 12 months T&T and 30k miles for £300. I'm pretty pleased with that and look forward to getting many high mpg retro miles out of it. (provided I can resist the temptation to drop the engine in my mini for long enough...)
