Not been here long, but thought id best start up a little progress thread on my new car. Only had it a month or so, been sorting out a few little faults to get it good, and now the modifying will begin hopefully. Got a few plans in store for it, but it is a daily driver/weekend drifter so style and looks need to be combined with practicality. Anyway, we all know this is useless without pictures, so ill put a few up and hopefully update soon with progress Currently has: 40mm lowering springs up front, 2" blocks out back. 13x7 minilights De-stripped front grille with "Prancing moose" logo. Standard 2.0 litre 8 valve engine with Green Cone filter and mahoosive japcan (Soon to be changed to full s/s system with side exit) Stripped interior with 2x Bucket seats and Trs Harnesses and a Giant dash-mounted rev counter with shift light (Will be binned asap.) Clio boss and wheel And Jvc headunit with Jbl 6x9's out back and some generic component speakers in the front doors. Let me know what you guys think

Right, finally got a bit of progress going. The volvo is off the road until late july, this gives me a chance to tidy it up a fair bit as there were a few rough edges i wasn't happy with. It also means that I'm saving loads of money running my new daily so hopefully there will be more frequent updates over the next few months. So, it came with a horrendous monster-tacho on the dash, i finally found a tidy replacement, seemed easier to swap it than removing all the related wiring from behind the dash. This is the original (obviously half way through me attacking it) Now replaced with a neat looking 52mm "Tim" rev gauge in a pod. Much better (Just noticed my hazards switch is upside down ) Next on the list is rectifying the three or four bits of rust its developed. The front lip is the worst, so i started there with a wire brush and drill attatchment to see what ive got to deal with. Ugly as sin, and as i don't have the equipment/ability to weld, its wire mesh and body filler all the way for me. This is after a bit of work, and one skim of filler on the right hand corner, called in the assistance of my dad as he looked pretty bored as well. While he was doing the bodywork at the front, i prepped the other rust patches (Bottom corners of rear doors) and put a coat of filler over those, but you all know what this looks like so i wont bore you. Also removed the headlights and split them apart, spraying the inside edges black, its subtle but a nice touch i think. Another job of the weekend was repairing read bodging, my passenger side bucket seat, the base had collapsed, so had to improvise for that one. Finally, ive got a set of these that i need to start refurbing. They are in a horrible state so serve me as a very long term project, but i've got nothing but time Sorry for the huge post, c+c appreciated.

Niiice. I love these, there are almost none left over here though. And i've never seen a 2 litre one here that didn't come from the uk, we got mainly 1.4s

Cheers guys, yeah it isn't something you see every day here either. I'm yet to spot another saloon on the roads, see a few 340 and 360 hatches about though. I had the same problem when i saw it up for sale, i fell in love so had to have it, now to tidy it up and make it my own

Right, done a fair bit since I last updated. Car is now rust free, front valance is one piece again and the patches of rust on the doors have been filled and sprayed, finally happy again Can just about see the front here, haven't sprayed it body colour, ive got a strip of matt black along the front now instead. The carb seemed to just die, couldnt get it running at all, so this weekend ive fitted a new carb I aqquired, and changed the fuel pump as well as cleaned out all the filters and fuel lines. Got it back to fully working order again thank god Carb was filthy when I bought it so cleaned it up a little bit And finally, another modification! Treated myself to some Gaz fully adjustable rear shocks, relatively cheap in my eyes and the adjustment is amazing meaning I can stiffen the rear up no end hopefully helping me on my quest for sideways... S'all I can think of at the moment, hopefully more soon

Yeah this is how it looked when i bought it pretty much, just been neatened up and slowly being more modified by myself. The dampers came to just over £120 delivered, considereing how much of a difference they've made I'm more than happy with that. (I wish i knew why the pictures weren't working however.)

An update, all be it not very exciting. Its back on the road, so that means that last month i had to pay for insurance, tax, a holiday and a festival. All in, costing me over 2k so I'm recovering from that at the moment, these were nice and cheap though so its the best update ive got right now. Next addition should be to get the diff welded and get an exhaust system made up

^That goes to this when it gets dark. But obviously i don't use them on the road, only to flash people out of junctions etc. Still, looks good in my eyes, let me know (:

Cheers dude, you already know i love yours :') And yeah gotta get a few bits of o.a.p spec trim fitted, trying to find a national trust one for the other side now And cheers for the suggestion on the exhaust, put a lot of thought of thought into it and already changed my mind about a side exit, i just need a full system made up to get some more clearance under the car now

Cheap addition to the cabin this week, Bought myself a fire extinguisher as a bit of an impulse buy. Came with a mounting bracket, so a couple of self tappers later and I have this, More for my peace of mind than anything, but it always helps if you need to be a hero some time... In easy reach of the front seats and pulls straight out of the bracket, more than happy with it. Next week, welded diff and a cheeky refurb on the superlites as they are badly corroded.

Right! Where are we... Finally taken a move in the right direction (as far as I'm concerned) Firstly, had the diff welded up, all well and good, but soon enough resulted in me doing this... To the front wheel, and this To the rear wheel on the same side. Assuming the worst, i jacked it up, checked for any damage, all seemed okay, so i threw on the spare wheels, took it down the road to get the good tyres put back on and got the tracking re-aligned. £30 later and it was completely back to normal, lesson learnt, happy days! The next expense, my radiator decided not to be a radiator anymore, and upon further inspection, its clear to see why... Cant say I'm surprised, the small pipe at the top of the picture snapped clean off upon removal of the old rad, no idea how it lasted as long as it did. So hunted for a quick fix, found somewhere locally offering to re-core it for me, two days later i was greeted with this. Bonus! Whilst it was out, i cleaned out the header tank and washer bottle (just to kill some time) Happy to see my inner wings are completely rust free, trust a volvo Invested in a new drivers seat, as I'm getting more into drifting i needed something to hold me in a bit better than the Ebay specials it had before, No pictures of it fitted yet, but its in, nice and low on sliding rails and keeps me pinned no matter what, exactly how it should be. Think thats everything major up-to-date right now, taking the old girl up to norfolk arena mid-november for her first drift day, so no doubt more repairs will follow, ill try and keep this updated either way
