It is looking good. I do like this car and the way you have interpreted it. The wheels add a lot and I like the way you have lowered it - enough to sharpen the look but not too much so that it looks like there is something wrong with the suspension. For me, there is a tendency out there to go too far with lowering - though I don't expect everyone to agree with that!!! And the colour is just fabulous. I'd put the bumpers back on though. David

Hey People Well I know its been months since the last time I posted but, I have a good excuse. I'm currently setting up a business in vehicle restoration paint and body. So if anyone want some work done please feel free to pm me. So updates, engine spins over well with oil pressure (phew) but no spark, I'm going to buy a new system mines been hacked around too much. Been making a centre console with arm rest/cubby box no pics yet as its not finished erm just started sound deadening the doors they sound great now, just the rest of the car to do. Think thats bout it atm but keep thinking of extra bits such as coolong fan running on after switching off, dipping interior lights, wash wipe and intermitent, buzzer to tell me lights are still on and the list goes on. don't be alarmed there wont be wires everywhere thats the faulty ignition

Hey BL fans, So I was working on the VP today and I thought its been ages since I done a new post. Well the photos I took today may look as if I havnt done much but i can assure you all, I have. The last post I done she wasnt even running, well thats all changed. I finally sorted out the ignition issues, YAY, it was driving me up the wall. so with that sorted and fuel lines connected i managed to get it running which threw up more problems with popping back through the carbs which turned out to be idle jets needed 0.02mm taken out of them. This has helped a great deal but still needs setting up on the rollers to iron out all the bugs. Other than that it starts, runs, idles and gets up to temp. I now have brakes, steering and suspension all set up, been up and down the road a number of times actually drives well all things considered. So all thats left for MOT is seat belts, horns, front number plate and few other little bits. must say pretty pleased with how shes looking cant wait to have a real drive. Oh the GT in the back ground is mine too, which is gonna get my treatment next.

Piazza alloys? They look right at home. I'm still undecided about the front end treatment, but you've made the rear look surprisingly modern and the green still strikes me as being a very flattering shade for the old 'leggy. If you're in need, I do have a pair of Allegro door handles that I'm unlikely to use since parting with the car they were destined for.

I love the front end. I can't believe how a few simple changes can take it from frumpy to 'ard as nails.

My Flabber is completely Gasted, that is stunning, it surely must be the best modified Allegro in the country ? maybe the only VDP ?, best one I've ever seen anyway (including the Andy Saunders one)
Top job though, interior, bodywork engine all excellent, love the way you have retained a luxury theme with the car rather the easy route of gutting it race car style like someone mentioned, was'nt sure about the lack of bumpers at first, I'd maybe have had them fitted and colour coded or black to break the green up a bit but that's personal choice.
Surely worthy of a feature in RetroCars ?

Absolutely awesome. I'm not sure I should like the Mazda colour, but I do. Could have been a BL colour. I used to walk past one of these on my way home from school every day. Loved looking in at the walnut interior.
Great work.

My first car was an Allegro 1300 and I have a soft spot for them even though mine was totally gutless. Your interpretation of the VDP at the front end looks excellent and the workmanship superb – well done. I normally hate lowered cars but this one is judged perfectly - the wheels fit properly in the arches showing how the original ones were mucked up compared to the original styling concept. The only suggestion I'd make is that I think it needs the bumpers, probably body coloured.
