Good idea with carb mounts, i ll have a look at those. Rotary's are really smooth although idle can be rough if they are heavily ported. Until i get mine running I'm unsure how much vibration will occur but my old RX7 FC wasn't bad at all for that.
Cheers for the info on the safety pressure valve, just a recommendation from the pump manufacturers. Pump has an internal pressure regulator which is good although a do have an external Holley one if required!

is that not a real carbon fibre dash panel? looks realistic in the pics.
that engine looks tiny, esp with the weber on top

I'm hoping for a 160bhp at the flywheel but maybe thats optomistic... who knows! I was looking at a mates RX4 sedan who has a 13B full bridgeport recently set up from weber ida to fuel injection and it revs easily to 11k and makes 220 at the fly. But we all know horsepower figures get thrown around freely, so i guess the proof will be once its running, properly set up and rolling roaded!

You should see 160 pretty easy with that carb and a half bridge. My chevette had 120 on the dyno and that was a lesser series two engine with stock ports, carb and mild exhaust.

I d be a happy camper if I can see that or more... with a such a light car ( panels are so thin, I'm getting jealous of lancia owners!) I was hoping for 160bhp/per tonne Begun the fun process of building the rear section of the custom exhaust today.... alot of lieing around, and weld tacking, then trial fitting!

First attempt at dash repair is looking ok, may need flatting back once more and a small amount more filler but not a bad start!

wtf is half a bridge port?
decent fuel system, good tuning and healthy apex seals and as yoeddynz said you'll crack 160 with no problems. Use a dyno.

You have 4 ports. One on each end plate and one on each side of the centre plate. With full bride porting you get all four ports opened up. A half bridge is just having the outer plates bridge ported ( outer or the inner- I'm not sure..)
I think this is correct. But a maybe wrong...... I'm still learning heaps.

But yeah as he explained its when the out side plates are bridgeported and the inners are left. Its usually done when the car is running the standard 4 barrel nikki as it gives good performance off the standard carb, you still get the nice brap noise and you get better economy too! ( better than a standard bridgy anyway!) I only found out it was a half bridge when a kiwi mate of mine come round to help with some of the wiring, poked his finger in the ports, and then explained the above to me! Anyway yep once I finally get her running, there is a dyno place 5 mins from my house so I ll get it set up properly Car has a carter fuel pump with 3/8 lines on plus weber 45dcoe and I'm building a decent exaust at the moment with perry extractors leading too twin primary's to almost the diff from 2-1 into a single hot dog resonator into 2 1/2 inch pipe over the diff and finally a massive stainless packed 2 1/2 inch truck muffler! This will be an experiment as too how loud it ll be but got to start some where!!

And when you cruise on the nikki, using only the primary's, you should see an easy 25 mpg. I was getting 30 in the rx3 but that's a fair bit lighter than a rx4 I think.

Rx3 i would think is about 200kgs lighter than an Rx4 in standard trim .... i ve kept my Nikki carb in the shed for this reason i might decide that the Rx4 needs some daily driving and i can easily swap the carb over!

Today has been a good day I now have headlamps, rear lamps, indicators ( albeit no flashing as flasher unit isnt wired!), starter now turns the engine on the key and the temp gauge and other parts of the dash light up.... feels like giant steps towards starting the car have been made today!

Finally managed to get a spark at the plugs, which means that once the exhaust has been completed, and oil and coolant has been put in, i might actually get to start the engine!! In the mean time attention has been turned to finishing some other bits and pieces.... so i ve ordered a two inch lowering kit for the rear from www.dellowconversions.com.au and ordered a new headlining from Goliners motors.shop.ebay.com/goliners/m.html to replace the custom one which was falling apart! Will put some pics up when they decide they want to upload....

Wheeled the old girl out of the car port, first time in a while! Most of the exhaust has finished being welded together now and all painted in heatproof black paint! Two extra mounting bars welded to the rear silencer After a half a day of cursing and swearing between me and my dad.... The back box is finally mounted! After offering up the front section and adding exhaust studs, we found the extractors were out on on one stud hole Probably for a 13B engine i guess.... still out with the grinder.... So thats that chopped off.... needs to be rewelded about 20mm inwards to fit properly! Another job to do along side getting the resonator welded to its flanges at the right angle! In the meantime the head lining came out... And i m left with a beautiful glue covered roof!

Well my rear lowering kit arrived.... Got one side in already The other side is half done but left due to a downpour of rain! Nice rainbow afterwards though! Quick shot with the 2" drop on 14's.... dosen't really do it justice and will be lower still when the 7x13's are on the rear

Looking really good! What sort of daytime temps are you having right now? Cheers! ;D Its starting to look how i want it to be.... just keen to finish the exhaust so i can start her up! Day time temps are around 18-20 degrees which is nice for winter, but had a fair bit of rain recently! Its getting down to about 5 at night though which feels chilly! Picked this up last night, as i m not sure that my crossmember is right, it seems to have a 90mm off set to the passenger side. I'm going to try this and see if everything lines up better!
