iv started this blog for you comments and criticsim to help me along the way I'm not a mechanic and have done everything by reading sites like this this is the first time iv attempted anything like this so its a 'learn as I build' car any help appreciated heres the car from when I got it new grill got some polo 6n coilovers from ebay had to drill out top hole to fit the hub welded on washers for strenght this needed sticking on lathe to fit top mount drilled oput to 14mm assembled fitted the backs needed a lot more to make them fit. as its my daily driver I had to do the mods to the shocks so the car wasnt off the road for to long. hacksawed old bush off as its to big for the axle mounts and the stut hits the axle brought a universal bush kit from superflex needed trimming to fit welded it all on fitted better! now its to low for passengers, I added some lightness to the car removed bump strips this helped betterer! wheels needed lick of paint as were really rusty, so sanded primered and painted black till I sort some proper wheels out later next added some ooommmph cbr600 carbs made stabilizing vessle for vacuum for the brakes and dizzy tapped manifold fitted with free high temp air fittings from work ;D a quick vid off when I first started it up, still needs setting up properly though

awesome work dude, if you need to know anything about tuning options and what parts fit k10's let me know. I was actually the first person on MSC to properly fit CBR carbs to a k10 with a custom manifold. Ed Proved the concept I executed it Also the common MR2 seats I did first Very old picture; Ended up with twin webber DCNF 36's which were a lot better on power and fuel, coupled with a k11 nismo 4-2-1 made to fit and straight through stainless exhaust; This was a very tame 0-60 run i did, didn't even push it but I had it doing 0-60 in around 6.8 seconds. all on a MA10s engine 98bhp

Nice work squire! Bike carbs are for winners - Fact Easiest head option is the 1.2 head with a skim to bring the compression up as it has the biggest ports as standard. Valves are the same size in all the standard heads. 1.2 cam is also higher lift/longer duration. HTH

Personally I'd recommend a MA10s Head which is the higher compression ma10 head found on the 5 speeds (that alone is a 5bhp increase on a stock k10) or if you can an MA12s head found on the later 1.2 with all the EGR (Exhaust gas recirculation) curse word on them. the later ma12s heads are much better machined compared to the run of the mill ma12 heads as they have to compensate for the addition of EGR and 2 cats they chucked on the last k10's it's easy to spot an EGR k10 as they will have a CAT on the manifold and a f**king sh*t ton of usless pipes on them. That said the hitachi carbs on the later k10's is basically a single point injection system and very efficient on fuel Look into finding autograss websites and forums as k10's are used heavily for autograss racing and you can get some great bargains on heads, manifolds and all kinds of uprated parts for the k10

awesome k10 dude! is that as low as it goes with the coilovers? as I'm going to be buying a k11 (once insurance pull their finger out and tell me how much more it is to insure) and i know its the same fitting procedure coilover wise on k10 as k11, just wanted to know if they were wound all the way down or not? also did you have any problems with heat when welding the new bottom mounts onto the rear coilovers? as i know welding when theres still fluid in them can be quite dangerous cheers!

Nah, goes stupid low! Got at least another 3 inches I could drop it by, but I'd never get it off the driveway!! I think the k11 suspension is like a corsa on the back, separate spring and shock. From what Iv read the corsa b fronts go on with very little mods, drill out one whole 2mm I think. All the insides had to come out to weld too
