Another little update of what ive been up to.... I had some import mazda mx5 seats in the garage and i was getting annoyed with not being able to let people in the back (golf seats are from a 5 door) so i decided it was high time i made some brackets for them. They are tan leather (but I'm re-dying them back, along with some leather mk3 golf split folding rear seats), and the best bit - they have subs in the backrests and speakers in the headrests, just like a gaming chair! Golf seat.... ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0207.jpg) MX5 seat... ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0206-1.jpg) Stripped the golf seat and started to make some new rails... ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0231.jpg) ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0234-2.jpg) ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0236-1.jpg) Also, the polo was a sight for sore eyes today - my other project (1980 Volvo 244 turbo) is having a new roof skin, and the donor car got stripped this weekend (in Huddersfield) so i had to transport the new roof to Wakefield! Roof rack made up... ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0245.jpg) ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0253.jpg) ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0256-2.jpg) Called in KFC on the way home and no word of a lie, at least 15 people stopped and stared at it in the car park! lovely car chap! Love the fact your keeping the mods tasteful. I like a slammed Dub as much as the next man but I've more respect for the the man who mods his way and not the way of the "scene" Cracking work!
Love those wheels too!

Putting the "Roof" back into "Roof Rack"!
Great re-use of the Roadster seats, I have 'em in my VSpec, they're pretty comfy too. If you find yourself wanting more bolstering you can do a "foamectomy" on them (defoam the center bit, you can always refoam 'em later)

Very nice! Where did you find the front lower fogs? They are the last pair of genuine VW Yellow Foglights - the were an option when the mk3's were new. The lenses are £45 ea - but the projectors are discontinued - I'm just hunting for a set of passat ones that can be retro fitted to the backs with a few mods

Yeah I'm loving the way the car is looking at the mo'. One thing i really want to have done is have a paintless dent guy go round it, but its ££ thats the problem! It really would be near mint bodywork wise if the parking dents got sorted. Putting the "Roof" back into "Roof Rack"! Great re-use of the Roadster seats, I have 'em in my VSpec, they're pretty comfy too. If you find yourself wanting more bolstering you can do a "foamectomy" on them (defoam the center bit, you can always refoam 'em later) Yeah! Ill bear that in mind! Very nice! Thanks for the tip! Small update on the polo is that ive had to straighten the front end out considerable due to someone reversing into it reasonably hard....all sorted now though. And also my front silencer has a baffle loose in it at the mo' so it sounds like a bloody moped! Good excuse for a magnaflow methinks... ![](http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx214/volvo244_album/IMAG0262.jpg)

Ok, I'm one of the admin on Club Polo - I run the Dubstyle section also & make strut bars for front lower and rear upper mounts for £60 on the mk2 & 3 and they make a huge difference to the handling.
here is the lowdown on the foglights:- The lenses in clear are still available direct from your dealer for £30 a side. the original projectors are short stubby projector type ones which are discontinued. You can use the projectors out of a mk2 golf big bumpers foglights, but you have to use genuine ones are the new repro type ones don't fit. the other projectors that fit are the ones out of the 88-93 Passat (the one with no grill - think its balled a B3??) - these are shorter than the mk2 golf ones, but not quite as short as the genuine polo ones (which now go for over £100 a pair 2nd hand) but you need to turn the Passat ones upside down to fit them correctly.
Mine only has a 2nd set of side light units mounted into the back of them to illuminate the glass. they don't actually do anything towards lighting the road.

Helloo everybody! I am new at this forum and I will be very thankfull if you can help me =) I have another Polo like you guys! and it´s great driving it! the thing is that it has not speakers, and I am planning to install them. But I am having problems about finding some technical specifications. (It was my aunt´s car and she lost the manual so...) I have measured the diameter of the front speaker´s hole and I think I should buy a 3.1" (8cm) speaker but, everywhere that I look for some speakers with this size, I find speakers like these (for example): And I think that those little holes for the bolts could create problems... So.. do you know any model of speakers that I could install? or do you have any recommendation? And what about the rear speakers? I have seen space for them in the trunk, but I am not sure if the space was made for them... Thank you all for your attention, I hope you can help me!!

i've replaced my front speakers with something similar, i cut the tabs off the speakers, also opened up the holes in the dash with a strong, sharp knife (don't tell the missus ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) ) rears are just 6x4 speakers, plenty available that fit. i didm't buy new ones, usually from the scrappy or car boot

Front Speakers are 3.5" I've cut the holes in the dash and fitted 4" because I could get better quality speakers for less money.

Thank you so much guys! I tried to find some original speakers to measure them, but I couldn´t. So, I think that I am going to buy the speakers on internet and take the car to the workshop to make the installation. Do you have any recommendation about models, brands...? I am a student so I have a limited budget hahaha.
Thank you again!
