As someone living in a place where this isn't really necessary, how hard is it to remove the dribbles once it's on? I'm guessing it hardens up when it cools like wax, so presumably you can just hit it with a heat gun and wipe it off again?

No, it stays soft and continues to creep in every little crack, orrifice etc. - you can recognise greased cars in summer - they drip grease everywhere. But then I'd rather have a spot of grease on the pavement then bits of rusted metal. That stuff is realy awesome! Even if you don't cover every spot, after 1 summer it'll be everywhere! It's a bit of a PITA to work with, but IMO it's the best protection one can get. Since it stays active and keeps working, unlike wax... I brew it myself with petroleum jelly & 5-10% bees wax.

totti: coming together nicely! And the longer I look, the more I like it!! What have you got in mind for wheels? Std?

Renew the seals for the halfshafts



2 hours later....



Later i noticed that there where 2 sets of brake shoes for the front but no one for the rear



I think Clement didn't noticed that at the time he buy's them on the Cortina Nationals...

Sorry about that!! I did buy a whole bunch of parts at once and... I never actually removed a rear brake drum so I wouldn't have seen the mistake anyways

Hi Thorsten, this build and the quality of your work is stunning. Thanks for your "like" for my LC replica on facebook yesterday. A tiny little thing which may or may not bother you - at the back of the car the Sherwood green on original LCs does not extend to
the flange behind the bumper. It stops in line with the recess crease above. Just in case you wanted the paint scheme to be as original LC, otherwise it doesn't matter ! Best regards Keith.

Remove the selfmade jig.....

Time to put the axle in place....



I ordered those wedge blocks for the lowering at Team deville,so the axle has the right angel after lowering with 2 inch blocks.But i have to do some work to adapt them.



Looks OK to me...
