engine back in had to do a few small repairs on the headers these are reaching the end of their usable life in the escort so i'm looking into new headers of a different design for it next hopefully something that will fit better and not A: get in the way of the steering and B: not boil the the suspension strut oil and brake fluid . there is room for a pair of fender well headers that would cure all the problems so it looks like that will be the way to go with it in the mean time I have just rerouted the brake lines so they are not 10mm away from the headers and repaired the cracks in the headers and repaired the struts .
other jobs on the car have been replacing the carb with a bigger and better one and port matching the inlet plus a few other little tweaks here and there an the engine while it was out and I'm pleased to report its all back in and running again and feels much better than it did last season power delivery is far better and the engine even sounds much crisper than it did . the rad had gone away to have a small crack repaired and that back working very nicely
got new front wheels and tires for the car which look a 1000 times better than the old ones the tires were shot on the old ones and I coldn't bring myself to buy new tires for wheels I can't stand . the rears will also be changed soon and the old ones sold as a set they are good wheels but i've never been a fan of that style of wheels but for now the rears will have to stay on as I don't the funds for new ones so this next pic I am blaming a fellow racer friend for

on putting the wheels back on I had to take these pics as they just screemed 70's
all back down to a much more sensible hight now and all cleaned up and ready to go again for another season

, superb work, i'd probably live with the rear centrelines as they are so deep you only see the plain centres from side on anyway, they look great polished up too.
