Wow, a Renault 11!!! I haven't seen one of these in years . . . let alone three in one place!!!! I had completley forgotten about them in fact. I used to love these when I was a teenager, there was a lad in my local town had one, (although I can't remember if it was a turbo), and he used to parade up and down the promenade like he was King of the Hill!!!!!
Good work so far anyway mate, I will be watching this one closely.

That's great! Do you ever go to the RTF track days? If you I might have a chance to check it out some day I'm a member of SportPug and ACRy, and they usually have track days together with RTF.

Thanks! Need to continue the work intensively now that I only have a couple of months left to get these in working order... Again a baby coming... That's great! Do you ever go to the RTF track days? If you I might have a chance to check it out some day Yep, I've been to RTF trackdays, but previously only with my Megane, Laguna and 306 Cab. Weren't you last summer with the GS at Ahvenisto? Let's see, need to start reserving next year's track days, I need to check the budget to see to which ones RTF can participate. I am also waiting for our "Kiihdytyspäivät", which is our 1/4 mile event. Hope to get some good times with the cars...

I slammed the rear! Well ok, I guess one of the rear torsion bar met a cruel end and snapped... Fix this or just add -50mm springs to front???

Finally managed to create the wiring link. So here is the link from the motor wiring harness to the car wiring harness. I used stereo ISO-adapters chopped with a Dremel and glued when necessary.

Great thread, will be keeping a close eye on your progress!
I've had three R11s before (1 x TXE, 2 x TXE Electronic) and would really like another although two R4s are keeping me busy enough at present!

Posted a wanted ad for the rear axle. Received an sms from a guy asking £10 for one. As today the 6th is the Finnish independence day, it means no work so off to fetch the parts. As I have told SWMBO that I would not use my days off working on the car, left at 6 in the morning. Ofcourse we had 5cm snow last night, so it took me some careful driving and 2,5h to reach the destination. A man with a Renault 11 rear axle, must have other interesting parts also... So £80 poorer, I left back to my house: There's a rear axle, front bumper, grill and lamp covers, two headlamps, headlamp backplate, steering wheel, charger etc... Back home, I immediately set to work on the steering wheel. Some cleaning was needed as it was covered with moss. After a quick clean with dishwasher liquid and a coat of leather cream. Much better!

As there is nothing to do just before xmas *cough*, decided to update the steering wheel on the daily. So out with the old... ... and in with the new (steering wheel that is)! Also, last night worked on the project, managed to fit new air filter, a filter for the fuel line just before the carb, and one the driveshafts. The second one requires a kind of a needle to keep in place, so need to find that somewhere...

You lost the roll pin for the driveshaft? The old ones usually have plenty grip to be pushed back in again.

Also, don't remember where I put my original one when disassembling the first project. Probably thought that those are one-time-only ><

Are the driveshafts the same? I believe your's a derivate from the 1.7l motor which is a F2N, where as mine is a C1J. Also, called the Renault dealer today, they said that the two pins have been replaced by one, and they have that in stock, costing 3e. So I think I'll try that first to see if it is the easy way out.

Needed some quick wins on some car to keep motivation up, so replaced the side repeaters and blinkers on the TXE. Needed some cleaning at the same time, as it was all dirty also under the side repeater. Damn, means I'll need to wash the car entirely. Started to change the blinkers, first one was ok, but the second was completely rusted, as I could see there was no sign of the seal anymore. So in goes the new one, where I needed to add the appropriate plug to the wire. And here's a quick night shot taken directly after I replaced the blinkers. Those blinkers were not easy to find, only one place in the ebay seemed to stock them, meant for R19 16V which actually are the same. Also, changed all bulbs to silver coated orange bulbs at the same time. Ofcourse none of these are e-marked, but to me, as long as the shine brightly and in orange, that's the most important.

YES! It started after I used the petrol pump with a wire from the battery, and moved the spark plug wires by two position in the distributor. This is the first time since a couple of years I have a running turbo! masi.1g.fi/kuvat/Auto/2012_12_09_Startti/20120109+First+start.m4vNow I should probably put something in the coolant circuit.

Now I'm also waiting for a T-piece from France, so I should be able to get rid of my pen-bodge. Does anyone have any idea where is the fuel pump ground wire going? It's not grounding. Also, what signals are coming to the fuel pump relay? I did not find any wiring diagrams in the hayne's or french RTA or in the Renault repair manual...

Again, needed some quick wins to keep motivation up. Non-running engine and winter time is not the best combination Thanks to scaryoldcortina, I played with my balls tonight... After some drilling and hammering, one is now fitted to the daily, the 11 TXE.

Couldn't get any sleep, so changed the carb to a cleaned and "bigger" one before work today. Now the tickover is nice, video: masi.1g.fi/kuvat/Auto/2012_12_09_Startti/CarbChanged.m4vBut the same problem persists, after 10s it stalls and won't start anymore... So it's either not getting enough juice, or there is pressure build up which then stops the car. If I leave the car alone a couple of days, it will run again for 5-10s. Getting a little bit despaired and lost here...

Managed to get it running now, by changing the timing. The timing is not adjustable, but I got a spare distributor from my spare motor and cut the attachment peg, allowing me to adjust the timing by turning the distributor. I also changed it to "cup" setup by removing a lot of the "extra"-pressure piping. Now it runs fine: masi.1g.fi/kuvat/Auto/2012_12_09_Startti/20120209+Cup.m4vRepainted below the windshield because it was rubbish. Now, it's time for the fun part, the rear suspension. I bought a separate rear axle earlier on, and now I concentrated on removing the torsion bars. I hope the torsion bars on the car will leave more easily. The problem is that the previous owner put some side skirts on the car with glue etc, so I can't access the torsion bars without dropping the axle. Received the windshield washer bag, so now looking for a place where to install it. This is only for MOT requirements, so it will be nearly empty all of the time, and will save some weight. Also, received new oil catch tank, checking for a place where to set it up. Will put the cup setup here also, so removing a lot of the extra tubing. Also, to keep motivation up, bought 1m x 2m of 1mm aluminium, should be creating the door panels soon. Here's a pic I'm using for inspiration:
