If only a set could be found, then Furukawa X-1 wheels would have the dish, plus a nice Compo-ish style to the face. Best of both worlds? www.modifikasi.com/showthread.php?279985-RETRO-RIMS-4-SALE..... Or Furukawa Mesh: retrowheels.wordpress.com/To be honest, it doesn't matter what wheels we suggest or what could be done to improve the looks of the Trans Am rims. Because of two reasons, which I'm sure you'll agree with me on.... 1. Bruce has AMAZING vision, and ability to translate it into reality. 2. He's a man with a plan, and past projects show he makes art. Jaws will drop. We will be humbled. And its gonna be awesome.

I have the funniest of feelings that Bruce has some of those in stock anyway ^ truesay No point in suggesting wheels for this, in fact I have a feeling that by doing so you're likely crossing them off the list! Thoroughly enjoying this thread though, thanks Bruce, if it's any consolation your monetary outlay, pain and suffering is providing a great read

Those Furukawa X-1 wheels look plastic and like they belong on a toy car, not a real car. I've never really got the fuss about them as I don't think they're that nice a design. The Furukawa Mesh are nicer, but far too fiddly and again have that Matchbox/Corgi look about them because of the big black disc behind the 'spokes' of the design. However, get yourself one of those road legal fairground dodgems and apply them instead of the usual quad bike wheels and I reckon you'd be onto something.

That's hard to find better than the original ones! Spirited green by mazda. Love that, especially with the roof not green. Makes me wonder about "brushed"stainless effect like Maserati Bora. Great thread! Makes you think about how different a design can look with different graphics applied to it & makes me want to experiment upon some of mine. Best of luck with the search MM. Sorry things didn't work out with those wheels but must agree with the choice. Looking forward to what comes next.. but not in any hurry.

Nah, that doesn't work for me. They belong on Bland Euroboxes.

Memoryfab aren't a wheel manufacturer, they import (mainly used) wheels from Japan. could have fooled me, they are posting blanks on their facebook page and talking about what to make them in next.. "Memoryfab.com Can't satisfy everyone, hopefully we will learn from this wheel and make one even better." blank wheel via instagram http://instagram.com/p/MWUlvgzFue

M Technica is a wheel brand in its own right.

A most entertaining read. Just to add my 2p, what about joining the enemy:- or something with a flat face and dish similar in shape to your old compos:- Or, if you can track down a set:- It's a TRD tosco I believe.

That is a TRD Tosco. Quite easy to get hold of but expensive. I want a set for the Celica.

Bruce, My 2p (apologies)
I think its actually the tire letting you down. That era of car needs some bulging sidewall action. Those wheels add to this. The flat edge lip transitioning into a flat walled tire is what i think lets it down. Only problem is the size of the wheel may prohibit a chunkier tire...
Just my thought, but it may contradict the overall look you want for the car anyway....
